GameInformer's Chris Warcraft writes, "Xenoblade Chronicles is an amazing game. The characters are engaging, the storyline is epic, and the fresh combat blends MMO style cooldowns with the feel of an old-school, turn-based RPG.
However.
The graphics. Dear god, the graphics. I can’t decide whether the technical capabilities of the Wii make me want to projectile vomit or take a 12-gauge to my television, and it makes me angry enough to mail a severed unicorn head to Nintendo’s main office because this game deserves better."
You sir, are a Wraphics Ghore! See what I did there?
but bad graphics? Uh no! They are just low res. Only an idiot would think the graphics were actually bad.
Fact is, none of you strike me as nintendo gamers. Clue number one being, if you were a nintendo gamer, you wouldn't give a monkeys about the graphics.
Giveaway number 2 is, you must be either blind and/or stupid to think the game has bad graphics. In fact, i own a ps3 and xenoblades offered moments of visual pleasure i had never experience on the sony console. Fact of life. Rolling landscapes as far as the eye can see? Check. All covered in lush vegetation and wildlife? Check. Incredible lighting and overall ambience? Check. Brilliant? Check. Crap graphics? You idiot.
My conclusion is people hating on xenos graphics are people who have most likely never played the game, only having seen it on tv or youtube. That, or just idiots.
Ignore the fact its probably the most incredible game this gen, or just ever, and bitch about its low res graphics. Good idea.
Xenoblade's problem, if it has one, is a lack of fidelity coupled with very, very detailed art design.
As humans, we have developed very complex verbal systems so that we can communicate clearly with one another. Those who are unable of saying what they mean are incapable of meaning what they say.
Specificity, folks: it MATTERS.
Play Xenoblade on a 42 inch LCD and tell me you don't think to yourself..."man this game is amazing... if only it was presented in HD..." its not about style but quality....just look at this game running on the Dolphin Emulator...it looks amazing.
Still a great game, but there is something to be desired still there.
