Prototype 2 Crashes, Freezes, Lags, BSOD, Sound Glitches, Screen Tearing

Wait a minute, you aren't Alex Mercer! Hey! That is right. Prototype 2 is a based on a whole different character! You play as... *game crashes*. Ah.. f**k!!!

So many of you might experience some crashing and errors with this game. A lot of these problems are similar to the original Prototype as well. Let's see if we can go ahead and help you out. (PC, Prototype 2)

Hopefully game is as fun as the first one.

Huh? Prototype 2 doesn't hit PC until July 24. Unless I'm mistaken somewhere with this. Please elaborate.

Yes, but it doesn't release on the PC until July 24th.

Hey mate I should have specified that these are addressing potential issues that carried over from the previous version. Also there are a few console problems that need to be addressed.

Which ones were the console glitches? Specifically the Xbox 360. I am confused. I played the 1st Prototype and beat it and I don't remember it crashing and freezing in my playthrough.

goes to show how bs these troubleshooting tips are.

I fully platinumed this game absolutely none of that happened to me on PS3

How long did it take? Seems to me pretty soon, to be platinumed, when game came out few days back... But good job sir : )
Whitefeather  +   806d ago
I got the game 2 days before release. It only took me those 2 days. All the trophies are easy simple and fun.

its not even out for pc and they are just posting general troubleshooting tips that work for some games. Its sad that they do this for hits. Its like if I posted an article saying to improve the 360 version make sure to install to hdd, make sure disc is clean, make sure xbox is set to correct video and audio settings etc...

pc gaming is always full of trouble.

i just switched back to 360 and PS3.

Thats a stupid comment considering this game doesn't come out on PC for a long time. And only a small percentage will experience any problems (at least its fixable).

I agree with "idontcare".

PC *is* trouble most of the time. I spend more time fiddling with settings, fixing error codes and crashes than enjoying playing the game. Not to mention trying to get my PS3 controller working nicely in Windows 7 64-bit.

So yeah, he's right. It's much easier to just turn on the console, press a button on your CONTROLLER and you're in and playing the game. No third party apps to install. No signing up for different publishers' online services.

The day that I can make a PC where the software is stripped down to where it ONLY runs games (nothing else in the background) and have an interface fully navigable from a controller will be the day I stop gaming on consoles. I guess I just described a game console. Looks like that's what I'll be using. My days as a PC gamer are pretty much done.

Oh yeah, and another thing. Improvements in graphics on PC do not make a game more enjoyable to play. I have the same experience on both console and PC. Don't try to tell me otherwise. I've tried it.

I wonder if there are any cameo random characters hidden like in the first one.
