Kotaku - When one thinks of this industry's true tech-driven developers, one doesn't have to think too hard. Count them on one hand—Id, Epic, DICE, Valve, and Crytek. When these teams reveal their games, the titles often feel more like tech demos than game demos. Last night in San Francisco, Ca., Crytek debuted Crysis 3, and it was very much like seeing a tech demo.
OK, it was a tech demo.
Plus, I tried using strategy like "slamming cars" into enemies with a spartan kick, just like how they did in the trailer. But when I kicked the car, it would only push 2cm in distance. Why is it that the physics are so flawed in the real game, but not in the trailer?
The reason is that Crysis2 was just to advertise the CryEngine, and boy oh boy, did I ever fall for it. Crytek raped a good 40 bucks out of my wallet.
I tried liking the game, I really did. I tried to look at it from an open perspective, but its just a very average game. I can't believe it got 8's and 9's on review sites.
