"I want to start by saying I REALLY wanted to like this game. I tried for hours upon hours to get into it and have fun, but I just couldn’t. It picks up where Risen left off, the nameless hero drunk while Patty washes up on shore, and the battle against the Titans continues. It’s shallow, repetitive, and feels like it is unfinished.
To sum up my thoughts on the game into one sentence: The game is difficult for all the wrong reasons."
3/10
it reminds me of demons souls. its not the actual combat thats hard its just the unfairness of the enemy. why shouldn't it be unfair. your a human meat sack going up against hardened creatures.
people slayed the vanilla witcher 2 (before difficulty downgrade update) for its difficulty saying the mechanics didn't work and i thought the same up until i used parry, roll and potions i found it to be amazing.
each to there own i suppose though.
your friend maybe as bad at hardcore RPG's as you though.
your the reviewer and its your choice so i will not bash. when i have completed the game i will give you my opinion. i think your issue is not accepting the fact that the game is hard because of realism not bad mechanics.
If it's like Risen and the ole' Gothic games then that's great.
