Which Game Had The Worst Ending? [eGamer]

eGamer writes: "After the recent global rage-induced season of controversy surrounding the ending of Mass Effect 3, I started to think about game endings in general and decided to ask readers about this in this week’s Question of the Week. That is, what would be the worst game ending you’ve ever experienced?

Typically, a game’s ending can be bad because it doesn’t answer its main story questions, is nonsensical, contradicts its plot, ends on a bad cliff-hanger or just plain sucks. Of course there are many criteria that determines a bad ending, and while a lot of it is subjective, there are many exceptions that just aren’t good in general. So, which game severed your nerve because of its ending?" (Mass Effect 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I loved Enslaved! It did start to feel a little rushed near the end, not quite as polished as the start. Would love a sequel so so much!

Hydrophobia... if you can even call that an ending.

Resistance 3, ugh. Why the happy ending when the whole theme is doom?

I agree with you, I'm a big resistance fan, played da 1st one like 10 times from start to finish, and da 2nd a few times, but da 3rd even though it was better dan da other 2, I just culdnt go through it one more time because I was so disappointed with da ending.. it felt rushed to me for some reason, like dey cut a big chunk of he game or dey just got lazy

Hitman Blood Money, Mr 47 dies at the end

Then about a year or two later a friend told me about the REAL ending, i felt very stupid

hahahaha yeah i remember that. I had to tell a friend that you don't really die and that there is a longer ending. loved that ending.

Really? I thought it was good even though it was sad.
PirateThom  +   395d ago
I'm guessing it's not that part, but the part after that part.
ExCest  +   394d ago
I think I know that part. Like the part after the sad part? That part wasn't as good as the sad part since that part wasn't very emotional. I personally didn't like that part so I suppose I can understand what you mean.

Rage, although it didn't really have an ending to speak of. It just kind of stopped.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thought that. It just ended. I waited until after the credits for something, but nope!

Mass Effect 3

Rage would be number two. It just stopped. But see... Rage didn't really mean to the medium what mass effect meant. Mass effect was the next step in story telling and Bioware cocked it up. Mass effect 3's ending was just the worst.
