Default Prime's Charles Battersby writes: "The Shin Megami Tensei series puts out games faster than people can play them. Between the core series and the various spin offs, all of which take about 100 hours to play, I don’t see how anyone can stay up to date on the franchise. They all have something to do with stylish Japanese teenagers fighting demons… or making friends with demons… or something. It has a hard-core following who just love doing whatever it is they do in these games, but I never got into the franchise, and each new installment just makes me feel more daunted about dipping my toe into the series. "
The studio was on the verge of collapse when Persona 3 came out, and things were looking quite grim for Atlus. Regardless, many decisions made in the game paid off and became a staggering success.
Years ago, I was emulating the game on my laptop and the old thing died when I was about to get to the final boss. I'm more than happy to buy this remake when it comes out so I can finish it!
At the time I was immersed in SMT Nocturne and later DDS. I did not realize at all how important Persona would become for me years later.
Persona 3 FES was the first one that I played in the series. Looking forward to the remake.
Atlus has announced a collaboration with a well-known Japanese distillery to launch the Persona series' very own whiskey, releasing tomorrow.
I'll have to make this a mission the next time I blow through Tokyo.
Hopefully soon, given the limited availability.
A video reel showcasing what appears to be work-in-progress footage of a Persona 3 remake and a new Jet Set Radio title surfaced online this morning.
UPDATE: Special thanks to anonymous user DM for this!! So it seems this was part of footage from SEGAs Japan’s Internal meeting held in 2021… The Japanese characters on top rights reads “Footage in development” pic.twitter.com/5sW13O1kyQ

A Persona 3 remake would be incredible. It's one of those games that doesn't really have a "best way" to play because the content is split between versions.
And a new Jet Set Radio is definitely interesting. But I do wonder how the current public would accept it. Both previous titles are extremely arcade in their execution.
I'd love a new JSR but Bomb Rush Cyberfunk looks to be filling that void very nicely. Definitely get both if they release
That short video looks amazing, I love Persona 3, it's one of my favorite games ever. Hopefully this remake will come with the FES expansion included
Looks like they got p3 remake and P6 cooking. In Atlus we trust. One of the final kings of jrpgs.
The series doesnt put out games fast is the point. In this entire gen theres been 3 new ones. Thats it.
havok is right, and its one of the best series out there by far and your just scared to play them because you have to be smart to do it.
It's really not that hard to get into. just buy a freaking game and play it.
My first Persona- and first ATLUS game- was P3:FES. I fell in love. Naturally, I had to get my hands on P4 afterward, which is as awesome. Enjoyed Strange Journey, I'm loving P3P, and DDS, Nocturne, and Devil Summoner 2 are all great.
Persona 3 seemed a little intimidating at first, with a much darker tone than I was used to, but I said screw it and went for broke. Just play to enjoy yourself, and you won't be overwhelmed.
