E3 2012 – What May Be in Store for Gamers This Year

Although it only seems like a short while ago, the Electronic Entertainment Expo is arriving in less than 2 months and with it a whole new array of announcements, trailers and demos will be available to millions of drooling gamers around the world. As with every year there is an abundance of rumours speculating from a new console for both Sony and Microsoft to a new Gears of War. So, all aboard the rumour train as we discuss the many things that we really want to see from E3 2012. (E3, Industry)

:Sony are making sure they don’t repeat their mistakes with the PSP so are pushing the Vita like anything"

They made an even worse mistake with vita............the psp actually had games

"Some games such as InFamous, Call of Duty and Mass Effect are just begging for the handheld treatment and Sony need to deliver. "

EWWWW

"With the iPad 3’s retina display, true triple A gaming is possible on home devices, so why not utilise the fact and treat iPad owners to a proper beefed up gaming experience."

Because all it can do is shovelware

"Whilst not everyone loves the idea, we have to accept that mobile gaming has becoming a major part of ‘real’ gaming. "

no it hasnt

Hard to criticise the PS Vita when people forget it’s only been on the market for only a month with nearly 40 games to boot. The software, hardware and store are much tighter than the PSP and anyone who has tried both will find the PS Vita offers much more – the games will come and has some great games scheduled this year.

Also, unlike the PSP, the PS Vita can accommodate the big games like COD and adventures like Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Blockbuster hits will attract gamers to the platform and whilst the PSP had some big ones, its unlike the scope for the PS Vita.

I’m still a fan of home consoles and though iPad games are short break games, there are some gems and shows gaming will excel on tablets.

I don’t agree with ‘real’ gaming including mobile games on smartphones but feel the gap between console and portable gaming is narrowing.

Your wrong on every count

The psp launched with metal gear acid, a third party exclusive, a new darksiders, a third party exclusive, lumines, a third party exclusive, ect

What vita third party exclusives launched? Would zero be a good estimate?

The psp launched wih tighter software, which is why the psp outsold the vita comparing both launches...........

"unlike the PSP, the PS Vita can accommodate the big games like COD and adventures like Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Blockbuster hits will attract gamers to the platform and whilst the PSP had some big ones, its unlike the scope for the PS Vita. "

Again another untrue statement. The psp could, and did the same big games like COD ( the psp had em) and adventures like uncharted ( pretty much all other sony properties were represented)

In fact within the first year of its launch the psp had an exclusive gta........will the vita get one? doubtful.

Blockbuster hits only attract gamers to a platform if they are exclusive.

The psp had not only big ones, but bigger than the vita has shown thus far which is why the psp continually outsells it

Now if your going to continue to generalize and use false information please dont link your garbage site to n4g anymore............

ipad has no gens.........The gap is widening......

Like how your the same person registered on our website yet you have 2 different user accounts on N4G.

If you disagree with our writer's opinion that's your perspective, however each to their own, there's no need to call our site 'garbage'.

cant wait to see the "actual" wii u reveal.

with release date, price tag and the launch titles. it would be interesting.
TotalRevue  +   876d ago
I can see most launch titles being first party, much like that when the Wii launched though hopefully not as starved in comparison. The Wii U definitely has potential to do unique things, let's see if Nintendo realises this and comes up with intuitive titles
Havok123  +   876d ago
The wii launch was 75 percent third party..........

The wii u already has darkstalkers 2, assasins creed 3, for launch so you can be assured it will be the same

darksiders 2 has been confirmed along with assassin creed and aliens and the new metro 2033.

battlefield 3 i guess has been confirmed at some point but i forgot the link to prove it.

since crytek are involved, it safe to assume that crysis 3 will come to the wii u at some point.
black ops 2 could also come to the wii u since treyarch always ported their cod games to the wii.

about the first party games, pikmin 3 and possibly a new mario title may get revealed.
a new metroid would be cool and while the new smash bros has been announced, i dont think its ready for show time in this E3 yet.

a new F-zero, earthbound game would make my day!

simply put, i am veeery excited for the wii u :D
