If Vgchartz is legit today, the PS3 is really dominating in Europe. The PS Vita looks to be hanging tight as well (Only 19k difference from the 3DS at a higher price point, $250). Looks like everything still dropped this week including the 3DS though. Kinect Star War looks to have just ok in Europe with 41k. If Vgchartz numbers are right, it looks like Kinect: SW won't hit a million as predicted.

wow the ps3 is doing great.
the VITA need some killer apps ASAP!

Yeah, it needs some good new games, but it won't help to raise sales that much I guess. Because normal people (I mean not a N4G geeks like us) don't even know that it exits. I can see that in my school, kids think my Vita is touch-PSP lol. So it needs games AND time (or heavy marketing).

i'm not sure we need a next gen console yet. we have yet to see The Last of Us and the new GOW game (which are likely to look better and play better than their predecessors) i think that Nintendo have handed devs the perfect opportunity to carry on supporting the 360 and the PS3 longer than they would have under normal circumstances.

from what we've heard so far, the WiiU is not going to be a huge leap over the other two next gen consoles. this means that for one company at least (Nintendo) next gen is actually going to be similar in quality to the current gen. it would seem a certainty that those devs that wish to make games for the WiiU would want to cover some of their losses by developing some WiiU games for the 360 and the PS3 too... it just seems to make sense.

Sony also have the opportunity to recreate the WiiU with the PS3 and Vita combo, which in turn could help stretch the lifecycle of the PS3. you have to remember that there are 63 million PS3s out there, so those PS3 owners would only have to buy a Vita in order to have that experience, which will likely be cheaper than the WiiU (maybe a lot cheaper by then if we get a Vita price drop). i'm almost certain that Sony will already be in talks with WiiU devs to try and persuade them to do just that.

we are already seeing signs that it is going to happen with Dust. they are going to use the Vita as an alternative screen for stats and maps (much like we are hearing for the WiiU on certain games)

personally, i'm nowhere near done with this gen yet and wouldn't mind at all if Sony stretched this gen and pushed next gen back a little.

Good point there. Bubble for you ;D

"from what we've heard so far, the WiiU is not going to be a huge leap over the other two next gen consoles"

thats not true.
the wii u will have a gpu based on the radeon R700 series but which gpu we dont know yet, but even the weakest one of them still outperform the ps3/360 gpu and that very unlikely they would go with the weakest one.

the cpu is a WHOLE different beast! it smokes the ps3 and the xbox 360 cpus by a mile!!!

and no, for the last time, the vita ps3 combo will and would not be as successful as the wii u for obvious reasons i mentioned again and again and again!

When I was saying next gen I wasn't speaking about Wii U.

My fellow Sony gamers, the numbers for the PS3, PS Vita, and PSP completely prove that, in a new era of Kinect Dance and casual iPod/iPad/iPhone games, there is hope for traditional gaming as we now it.

However, I want to say a great "shout out" to our fellow European Sony gamers for carrying the torch and being strong vanguards for true, traditional, and hardcore gaming. The Europeans, well known for their great taste for fine arts, automobiles, dining, and of course, women are highly compatible with the Sony gamers' core ethos/values of classiness, maturity, and intelligence. Due to this, it shouldn't be a surprise why a large number of Europeans prefer to choose high-quality Sony products over the crude 360 as Sony products perfectly matches their image as a classy group of people.

It is, however, sad to note that the same compliment couldn't be said to a lot of my fellow Americans. The current situation in the United States is that the trend of mediocrity, in the form of many guises like bad music taste such as Bieber, are running rampant. That and Microsoft's relentless and immoral promotion of bland, soulless gaming such as Kinect Dance games are slowly killing the art, innovation, and passion found in true gaming. That in turn created a legion of American gamers who have YET to experience true gaming bliss such as Heavy Rain, Uncharted, and Journey. To them, no such good games can be found outside their bland staple of Gears of War, Halo, and endless COD franchise.

If there is any consolation in this sad situation, I'm proud to report that a lot of American gamers are now beginning to see the light that Microsoft doesn't them to see; the light that true gaming bliss can be found in high-quality Sony games. It is my hope that a lot of my fellow American gamers can follow the example provided by their European counterparts, and that our European Sony gamers can show them what true hardcore gaming is.
