IGN - Lone Survivor Review

IGN - I've had at least one little nightmare thanks to Lone Survivor, and that's a good thing. It wouldn't surprise me if Jasper Byrne's new creation were some photorealistic splatter orgy like Dead Space, but Lone Survivor looks like it locked itself up back in 1985 and just now had the guts to peek outside. And yet, perhaps precisely because of its stark 2D sidescroller aesthetic, it works as a survival horror game. It works so well, in fact, that its focus on psychological tension over visual prowess humbles flashier contemporary entries, and it provides a far more memorable experience than most of the recent Silent Hill games. (Lone Survivor, PC) 8.5/10
