Metro: Last Light – “one of the best-looking games on whatever system you play it on”

It can be hard knowing who to trust, especially in post-apocalyptic Russia after a nuclear war, as is the case with 4A games’ upcoming sequel Metro: Last Light. However, it appears you can trust an official representative from the development team, who was able to answer many of the fans’ questions towards the game on the official forums. Read on for some of the info he shared. (Metro: Last Light, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

When it comes to graphics, I trust the Russians.
MAJ0R  +   402d ago
I only trust Russians with graphics on PC games ;)
Orpheus  +   402d ago
Don't get me wrong ... its a positive statement i tried to make about the Russians , they were pioneers at using PhysX , I guess it got something to do with the nVIDIA office there.

this game is looking awesome by the way. loved the first one too.

I'd spell check so the Russians don't come after me >.>
RXL  +   402d ago
i think considering.....

spell checking would be the least of their worries.

besides...a "Russian Grammar Nazi" sounds like it would be awesome

Cooool, Metro was a great game, even when it went all 2001:A space Odyssey toward the end it still held together, do we get to play as Artyom again?

I remember the time the last game got hyped.
Eventually only the PC turned out to be the only flagship device to showcase the engine and even that was poorly optimized. Hopefully the same wouldn't be said for this game.

If you turn off Advanced DOF, the game runs smooth as butter. It's a framerate killer. GTX 560 ti, and was able to run it at 1920x1080, constant 60fps with everything maxed out, even Physx, except for Advanced DOF. Apart from that, it's some good optimization.

I only run this game at DX9.
Ergo most of the settings are not available such as AA and even WITH MY 560Ti, it can go pretty low at 30fps at 1080p. I didn't really enjoy the look at 720p even with a more stable frame-rate.

This is a for sure buy for me. Just add some advanced graphics options, optimize it (for the love of god), and fix Texture streaming.

XD alot of people thought metro 2033 had bad textures, the texture streaming was just so bad it would take maby 5-10 seconds of staring at a texture for it to fully load.
nepdyse  +   402d ago
Metro 2033 was a a poorly optimized mess, get your shit straight this time around 4A. If I'm not hitting between 50-70fps with a fricking 580, I'm not buying your game because anything less just feels sluggish, choppy and unresponsive specially when it comes to FPS's.
kesvalk  +   402d ago
too bad it play like a call of duty game...
NYC_Gamer  +   402d ago
Bring it on :)
