Terrorist Anders Breivik was a “full time” World of Warcraft player

Xbigy Games Writes: World of Warcraft has been at the heart of a terrorist trial in Norway today. The game was brought up in a trial against Anders Breivik, who has been accused of killing 77 people in a rampage using several guns and bombs. (Culture, PC, World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King)

0_0 Really? "World a WarCraft now a terrorist device of training!"

GTFO.

Yup- its inevitable.

Breivik is a serious psycopath whatever you look at it.

"Breivik must have played a fair amount as he claimed too, as he had reached the level of Justicar Andersnordic."

He was clearly a social recluse but what relevance exactly does the game itself have to the trial? I guess the courts are desperate to try and come to terms with why someone, supposedly sane, did something so atrocious. I guess we all want to know. His silly excuse that he is trying to prevent a so-called Islamic takeover is clearly baloney and just a way of gaining sympathy from the extreme right.

This guy deserves the most horrible punishment for killing all those innocent people.

I don't think so.I read some of his manifesto(over 1500 pages long) and he clearly believes what he believes. He was planning the attack for 8 years

What a complete loser this guy is. Railing against perceived 'Islamisation' of his country, viewed through the prism of his computer screen.

The scary thing is, he decides to on a killing spree.
reznik_zerosum  +   919d ago

He will use this, and all that other bullshit he believes in and they'll send him to a mental hospital. Fuck him and his rights, deserves to be shot. Mental hospital is an easy way out instead of jail.
r21  +   919d ago
letting him off easy with death? no way, he should suffer for the deaths he caused.
TekoIie  +   919d ago
Totally agree with you, I sorta hope that when i went on the killing spree he tried to kill him self realising he didnt have the bullet to do so.
AusRogo  +   919d ago
I agree. He should suffer in most horrible ways.

@krazykombatant.. No I havent seen jails in Norway lol

"mental hospital is an easy way out instead of jail"

You clearly haven't seen jails in Norway.

I bet he watched some TV shows regularly and read some books too, people have hobbies, even psycho's; it doesn't mean that the hobby caused or was related to their craziness.

This is game-ism.

I can't wait until our generation is old enough to replace the current one so when some old fart tries to imply that the person is more likely guilty by saying that "the accused also played WoW, GTA and COD!", the judge will be like "So what? Growing up half the people I knew played those games and they're not psycho killers so STFU lawyer a make a real argument"

Oh for *** sake.

Why the hell do the media purposely try to take stupid people like him and "somehow" turn it into gaming news?

He's a bloody psychopath. Do we really give a **** on what he played? What we do give a **** about is what he did to those poor people. Jesus christ ¬¬

Stupid.

In other news, a local gunman owned a puppy. City hall is now in talks about outlawing puppies as it is totally related to the event.
hazelamy  +   918d ago
and so are another 8 or 9 million other people who don't go out and murder a bunch of people, you'd think if WOW had anything to do with that, more people would have done the same.
but no, they didn't.

because they're not evil fucking racist scum.
i think they may be the more important factor when looking at that piece of shit's motives.

if he played WoW past patch 4.0, i think his defense team is pretty strong for being able to get him off on insanity charges.
