Having enjoyed sneak previews and hands-on sessions with some of 2012’s biggest releases at PAX East, Jonathan Szafran picks out his five ‘ones to watch’ - including the first potentially-great 'hardcore' Kinect game.
nothing special besides assasins creed 3.
Max Payne 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 for this year.
Pre-ordered Max Payne 3 yesterday, payed off AC3 two days ago =D
"nothing special besides Max Payne 3" = FIXED!
Max Payne 3 is going to be amazing.
1 decent looking Max Payne game and 4 piles of tripe.
Max Payne looks crazy, and good!
I don't know about good, but crazy? Yes.
You might not know about Good, but people with a good taste in action games do.
Have your mind blown by a bunch of sequels!
A sequel to a game that was one of the revolutionary games of its generation coming out for current gen consoles? Yes we have a reason to be excited... Also Uncharted falsifies your logic because Im pretty sure ALOT of minds were blown after playing Uncharted 2. Which is,yes you guessed it a SEQUEL!!
for me this year its Max Payne 3 Halo 4 Sleeping Dogs Bioshock Infinite Resident Evil 6 Dragons Dogma Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier Medal Of Honour Warfighter and Hopefully Grand Theft Auto V and The Last Of Us
The only games worth playing this year are japanese ones...... gungir growlanser agarest 2 kingdom hearts pokemon conquest pokemon black white grand knight history Rexx paper mario fire emblem legisticia arland 3 last story pandoras tower Final Fantasy Type-0 (I bet anything its at E3) at least are all I want to buy in the US.......the rest are imports
Isn't it every year that the only games worth playing are japanese ones according to you?
i would play all this games - in nineties,or if u have 10 years
I'm all for supporting Japanese games(most of my library hails from Japan), but this statement is stupid. Off the top of my head, Halo, Starhawk, Max Payne, Assassin's Creed III, and The Last of Us all look like they'll be great games. And that's not including games already out, like Twisted Metal, Journey, and Mass Effect 3(except for the ending). It's okay if you prefer Western games, but claiming they're the only ones worth spending your money on is stupid.
And most of those games will turn out to be turds most likely as this has been the trend for Japanese games this genereration.
How could you forget Ni No Kuni?
Pre-ordered Max Payne on the day it was available to on Steam and completed both 1&2 again which came free with it... Can't freaking wait. Looking forward for that R* touch.
A rhythm game mind blowing ?? HA !
I'm waiting for borderlands 2 and prototype 2,I got sick of AC already.
Bro, Prototype will soon be here..... Blackwatch edition?
Prototype 2 will be awesome! And im the same with AC. I loved 1 and 2, but Brotherhood put me right off and when I picked up Revelations, I just couldnt get into it. The story has become far too silly and warped. I do have a bit of hope for III, as im just glad to see the end of Ezio (probably the main reason I couldnt enjoy the last 2 games), but I cant get excited for it.
From that list, only Borderlands 2 interests me at all.
I'm interested in all the games of the list, but borderlands 2 interests me the most, I'm surprised by the lack of interest of the commenters on this article...
http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... The Last of Us imo
For me its The Last of Us, Halo 4 and GTAV. I'm rather interested in Max Payne 3, but I've never played a Max Payne before, so this will be new to me.
So many good games coming. Max Payne 3, Last of Us, Halo 4, Assassins Creed 3, Borderlands 2, GTA5, Sleeping Dogs... Another stellar year for gamers. Halo 4 is going to explode no doubt and im not even a fan but looking forward to how far 343 can push that black box.
Having my doubts about 2012 being a good year for gaming at all to be honest. The only game I can genuinely get excited about is The Last Of Us, which isn't even confirmed for this year. Then again, Valve are bound to announce something new at E3, and the new Sly Cooper will hopefully surprise a few people and pick-up where Sucker Punch left off in terms of quality. Oh, and I can see the new Medal of Honor game surprising a few people as well. It won't beat Call of Duty in terms of sales, but I do think it'll be leaps-and-bounds above it in terms of quality.
Borderlands 2, BioShock Infinite. /care2012
Borderlands 2. Hopefully Max Payne can live up to the legend too. Halo just doesn't excite me. To be brutely honest GTA5 is about the only game I'm genuinely exited about and that's not even on the list.
the last of us will blow my mind plus max payne/AC3/Bioshock/sleeping dogs
That's hell of disagrees.. Chill, its just a game..
Loved the first Borderlands. Can't wait for the second!
Me too, but i hope the story is more interesting this time around. Halfway thru the first one i already lost track of the story, ended up grinding my way thru the second half, with a bunch of friends.
I remember Max was supposed to come winter 2009. Wow time has flown by.
Looking forward to Max Payne 3
my main games for this year are Metro Last Light, FarCry3, Last Of Us.
I love the rash of 1 bubble noobs or " aka multiple troll accounts "
I'm gonna probably check out Max Payne 3 and AC3.
For me it's Max Payne 3, Ghost Recon, AC3 and Halo 4 definitely. Last Of Us I might replace with Ghost Recon but I want all of them.
for me, the games im looking foward are: Grand Theft Auto V (if it comes out this year) Max Payne 3 Assassins Creed III Fable: The Journey (i havent got kinect, but my uncle does so he will pick it up) Sleeping Dogs Rock Band Blitz Lego Batman 2: DC Super heroes Forza Horizon The new Need for Speed The new Battlefield The new Call of Duty The Amazing Spider-Man Prototype 2 Dirt Showdown Resident Evil 6 Far Cry 3 The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Bioshock Infinite Borderlands 2 Tomb Raider Hitman: Absolution Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
