IncGamers: But bugs still did exist, says lead designer.
Haven't played it, I wonder if it will have the legs that WOW has or had. (depending on who you ask)
I agree about the stable part but it isn't the most successful.
What other MMO has had the success SWTOR has had in its first 3-4 months? (Reports indicate it's already in the 1.5 mil area)
WoW did in Europe alone when it was released. Also many players have already quit the game for various reasons hence the 30 days free play offer for former level 50s/legacy level 6s. *edit* Yeah WoW was so successful in Europe that by the afternoon of release day, they had to temporarily close down the account creation because there was too many people all trying to get in the game. Obviously wasn't the most stable of releases but shows just how successful it was.
Swtor had a staggered launch so that wouldn't happen.
^ Never knew it was that much. Bioware's probably skewing the term "successful" to mean something else then.
I'd say his statement is pretty reasonable. Its the second MMO launch I was part of, and the end-result was a lot better than Lord of the Rings Online. Except for the bugs, that is.
of course, when you use shady business practices, like hiding the unsubscribe button, youre definitely going to get more people who dont unsubscribe. we're sorry, the unsubscribe button is under maintenance right now, it should be back in 31 days. in 31 days ill have lost another months subscription you can always spend an hour or two trying to call us and we'll send you in a circle around the office and once you've talked to every employee that we have we'll unsubscribe you, or we'll accidentally hang up and make you go through the entire two hour process again, its about a 50/50 chance
