The injustice of what Gamestop did far outweighs the presumed ramifications. If Gamestop and other retailers have to change their policy on used games sales, so be it. If these ramifications are extreme, then blame that on Gamestop for doing wrong which triggered it all.

We will soon have to listen to a GameStop employees explain the terms to buying a used game at the register. It will go something like this:

Hi, is this all for today?
Would you like to preorder Halo 4?
What about GtA5? It's in San Andreas I hear!

Ok, well do you have a powers zone card?
Ohhhh well it looks like it expires in 7 months do you want to renew today?

Sure you dont want to preorder Halo4? It's going to sell out you know.

Ok, one copy of Racoon City coming up, it's an awesome game I hear.
You have 7 days to return it.

Any questions?

That's be $54.99
Debit or credit?

Ohhhhhhhhhh you have some trade-ins?

Hold on let me get my manager.

Lol!

I'm all for then being required to post signs stating that the games well probably not have the DLC, but being liable for DLC that was missing? That's harsh. Even if it is against Gamestop.

Ignorant Consumers are not Game stops fault.

Btw visit www.waygoz.com, awesome site for local game swapping.

catfrog2136d ago

in many cases they are, consumers have rights also. for instance gamestop cant just rewrap a game in plastic, it would be misleading to consumers and they would most definitely be refunding anyone who said they wanted a new copy.

gamestop has to clearly mark what its selling so the consumer knows

Wolfbiker2136d ago

in all my experiences at Gamestop all games are clearly marked as NEW or USED, they even have their own wall.

Sure, I hate how Gamestop is extremely stingy on their trade values but you know what I do? I either wait for a promotion because they usually have a few good ones a month (like +50% on trades) or I go to a different retailer like a mom and pop shop (like i did just yesterday) of course i'm not going to get retail value on my products because I don't want to take the time and sell them for that on craigslist or trade them on waygoz.com but that is not Gamestop's fault that they have consumer's that are lazy and/or ignorant.
