Is Wii U Doomed To Lack 3rd Party Support?

Let's face it, we’re all hoping Nintendo’s 3rd Party Support takes a U-Turn with Wii U. The lack of 3rd Party Support on Wii was something critics were always quick to point out, and if Wii U can combine an amazing 3rd Party with Nintendo’s own brilliant first party, then it’s sure to be one of Ninty’s best consoles yet. Wii u won't lack third party support because when the xbox 720 and ps4 are released then third party developers will prefer to develop on the weaker hardware with less potential to sell a lot with a system that is known for weak third party support. /l/ () 7

Wii u will fail or succeed by its 1st party lineup and with increased dev times and expensive tech to develop higher quality games for the wii u then Nintendos lack of dev studios will hurt them.

Wii u will have third party games of xbox 360 and ps3 but won't get any favours done towards it too much because of the well established install base of core gamers on the available hd consoles. Third party devs won't favour a low install base when they have over 120 million potential consumers.

No, because next gen HW leap will not be as big as this one, unless MS goes bats*** crazy with tech, but even then, only a few will take advantage of the HW

I don't think so since many devs have already announced Wii U versions of their upcoming games. To be honest, I was surprised to hear Resident Evil 6 wouldn't have a Wii U version.

I wonder if N4G has enough of these to make a "Nintendo is doomed" section?

Why is it Nintendo and Sony always get the doomed articles?

PopRocks3592413d ago

Because Microsoft can do no wrong.
