Spark Unlimited is developing the game for a 2013 launch on PS3 and 360.
Hopefully this will be on ps vita. What is "spark" ?
My excitement faltered once I realized Spark Unlimited made Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary... http://www.sparkunlimited.c...
So does this mean they're not working on Star Wars Battlefront 3???
LP2 was a memorable experience for me. Had the best boss battle I've ever encountered. I for one, cannot wait.
They haven't made anything beyond "decent" in their entire existence. They sound perfect to make the sequel to Lost Planet 2. lol But seriously, 2 was disappointing, and I can only imagine how much worse a developer like Spark Unlimited could make it.
@guitarded77 Don't even talk about that horrible rumor. I pray every night that Battlefront 3 doesn't get stuck with such a developer....to every religions' god(s) and godess(es). lol
Capcom creates a weird feel on me, I dont really know if they are awesome or they are making a complete mess... Time will say
Commander_TK, LOL! Sorry for my "Disagree"... At first glance I thought you wrote LBP2. :P
@guitarded. Yes. As they have even updated their homepage projects. One is Action/Horror 3rd person title and other is Lost Planet 3. So...Spark has been taunting us fans just because.. Although there is always hope. My bet is on Free Radical or Crytek working on something for Battlefront series for 2013. Right now is a prime hiring stage for next generation games to be developed so I wouldn't be to surprised to see something come out of nowhere in say the next 12 months. E3 2012/2013 I am betting we see at least 1 new Star Wars game taunted, teased or revealed.
Am I the only one not impressed by this trailer... man RE6 looks pretty awesome from it's new trailer... this just looks.... lame.
RE = Real Franchise LP = Gears wannabe RE6 has my money, LP lol no!
Neither hav my money both look crap, i didnt like any of the Lost Planet games and Res 5 sucked, 6 looks to do the same, i will buy Dragons Dogma though so Crapcom will get some of my money
I don't really like the Lost Planet series but this trailer looks much more interesting than that awful RE6 game.
Does this guy remind anyone of Hawke from Dragon Age 2? Or is it just me?
Hawke got lost on Lost Planet somehow
No he looks like the guy from BulletStorm
Thanks Alves ^^
YESS!!! YESSSS!!!! YESSSS!!!! Now, Ubi, hit us with a new Splinter Cell. EA, I'd like to see Mercenaries 3 and Dead Space 3. And then I can die peacefully.
i take u enjoy milk lol lost planet is not worth it and resident evil has lost its touch.. splinter cell has also lost it touch merc 3 now maybe that can make a good open world dead space 3 will rip resident evil in the scare department, what happens to re man i used to be crapping me self when entering rooms now its just run gun puzzle... the last of us is going to nail it i tell u that game is going to grip us by the balls.. i would like to see splinter cell rebooted..
Whoops, I'm sorry, forgive me, but I don't recall asking for your opinion.
He doesn't have to, it's an open discussion. He's also right. This is not going to be made by the people who made the last two, so there's nothing to be excited about if you're gauging your reaction relative to your enjoyment of previous entries. This is Spark Unlimited. They made Turning Point and Legendary, two of the worst FPS games this generation. What business they have developing a AAA Capcom IP is anyone's guess, but I'm going to say that they're cheaping out on their customers again so they can milk easily excitable folks, cashing in on another one of their larger titles while quality takes a back seat. Maybe you disagree, but ask yourself: did Slant Six do a good job with RE: Operation Raccoon City?
"dead space 3 will rip resident evil in the scare department" I agree ,At this point Dead Space is a more relevant Survival horror game than Resident Evil, Cap¢om could learn a thing or two after RE5
@lightofDarkness When was Lost Planet AAA o________________0 ?
THE CELL has always been a PS3 fanboy since he joined this site and it seems like he hasn't changed. He doesn't like anything but PS3 exclusives.
splinter cell: conviction was great! just not on ps3.
Dude, Splinter Cell is still an amazing series. Its changed from how it used to be, but that doesnt make it any worse. The last two games (Double Agent and Conviction) had arguably the best stories in the series because they related directly to Sam and were far more personal and dramatic. I like that in a story, and thus loved those games. Whatever Ubi do with the next Splinter Cell should be great.
Oh gees CELL, you know some people just like games even when they aren't exclusive to PS3! You're so transparent.
Milk? There's been 2 Lost Planet games since 2007, 2 Mercenaries Games over the past 2 Console Generations, Splinet Cell radically chained in it's last game, therefor being the opposite of milking as they spent time developing the game.
Noooooooooooooo! What about Battlefront 3? :(
Exactly what I was thinking. I guess they're not doing it (unless they have the workforce for 2 big games, do they?).
You should be happy the words "Battlefront 3" and "Spark Unlimited" are not in the same sentence, as they were rumored to be. This is a great chance for the studio to show they've improved by working on a series we're mostly familiar with yet also remember how 2 failed to live up to expectations (critically and commercially).
Lost planet 2 was poor imo. Hope they improve on this one.
Another shooter where the enemies are alien monster thingies : / sorry if i'm not jumping for joy. Capcom has so many amazing ips in their vault and they give me more of the same #### that I've been getting this gen.
As opposed to the enemies being Middle Eastern, Russian or Korean soliders?
What happened to the character and mecha design!?? No crazy good job!!! NO CRAZY GOOD JOB!!!!!
Lost Planet 3 Announced" And not a single fu** was given that day.
"And not a single fu** was given that day" you cared enough to watch the trailer and comment....what a joke... on topic: the trailer looks awful.... yet another Japanese game will be ruined by western devs -sigh-
You're just mad cause j-blaze is right. If you didn't give a F like you're saying you wouldn't have even bothered to comment.
Again a cool concept poorly executed? I hope not.
the game is probably going to flop harder than the western RE game...........they just dont learn and if this is all there is to there captivate event then its a waste of time I try to stay positive but this is a capcom "WHAT THE JESUS ARE YOU THINKING" move
Why bother?both of the last Lost Planets were flops...
Do you mean Lost Planet Colonies (essentially 1.5) and 2, or are you counting the first one? I thought Lost Planet 1 was a fine TPS for a 2006 game.
The first one didn't flop. If it flopped there wouldn't have been a LP2. The second game was a disappointment. They focused too much on the multiplayer and not enough on the singleplayer. The online co-op was a blast though.
Oh snap a new Lost Planet. I am a bit suprised by this one
I DON'T know about the rest of you but I'm interested, bring it on!
Me too ! People just like to whine a LOT,it's in their blood,I say let the game speak for itself when we AT LEAST see some gameplay footage or read some info on it.
hope it's more like lost planet 1
Well, it seems it will have a story so probably it will be.
What is with Capcom and having shitty devs handle their major franchises? First Slant Six now Spark.
Slant Six had the chance to pick a well known IP and they blew it and now´s Spark chance.
Guys just look at Rocksteady they made that crappy game called Urban Chaos: Riot Response (its fun though) before batman arkam assylum so let´s give Spark a chance for this game. Besides Spark hired alot of people since Legendary im pretty sure this will impress the fans.
urban chaos was an awesome game
yes it was.
Urban Chaos was far from a crappy game. It just arrived very late in the console lifecycle, and had zero hype behind it. You could still see the talent behind the creators of the game. You could tell Rocksteady had potential for greatness, however raw it was. On the other hand, I've never seen a glimmer of competence or quality in any of Spark Unlimited's games. The name simply inspires zero confidence in me.
Yay...um Spark Unlimited. Yuck ! Lost Planet 1 was great Lost Planet 2 was mediocre, but had potential.
I don't want another Lost Planet. Capcom needs to make a new Monster Hunter for PS3/PS Vita with cross platform play.
I rather have both.
This must be the sequel to the sci fi game Spark Unlimited was talking about. No Star Wars Battlefront 3-CONFIRMED.
Lost Planet IP always held some promise but I always felt like they just lacked compared to other shooters. I also was never crazy about the whole energy / life meter constant drain business they put into the games. I would have liked them to help us focus more on the combat and platforming instead of constantly needing to find a energy/heat source. But I do recall these games having some fantastic snow visuals and sound effects... loved the crunch of the snow under boot.
great i hope its more like LP1
Well, being somebody who loved this titles predeccessors I'm seriously excited for this title, unfortunately Spark Unlimited's track record isn't great, but, hopefully this'll receive stronger input from Capcom than Resident Evil: ORC did...
Certainly has the look of an outsourced title...
they do this every time when the sales go bad for one of the games.
They don't need a reason to outsource. DMC4 was the best selling in the series and they still outsourced it.
I think it's Capcom's way of trying to destroy everything that was Mikami, Inafune and Kamiya's because fans know only those creators can take their games to the next level. Seeing that they all left however, they just don't have enough confidence with their own development teams to carry the chalice so a outsourcin' they go.....
Ok the trailer was kind of cool. Not great, but not bad either. Anyways I ROFL'ed when he threw his rifle at that creature. That is what I would do to and I don't see it often in movies/games. And as people say, the track record for the dev who is now taking over LP is very bad... But what do you know? I think Legendary got better scores and warmer reviews than Turning point So maybe there is hope? Hopefully they have enough experience and resources this time to make a solid game... But I dont expect much, rather let it be a good suprise if it turns out any good.
i just want them to bring akrid hunter back
Good Single player focus like Lost Planet 2 should have been!
Didn't Lost Planet 2 flop? Anyway, great idea by Capcom, pawning off this franchise to truly crappy Western developer (Spark Unlimited). Sure-fire way to reinvigorate a Japanese IP. They must really be deluded enough to think that everything Western developers touch turns to gold.
If its a FPS Then i'm not buying it..
