Top Tuesday: 10 great expansions

Whether through the ancient art of expansion packs or the modern format of DLC, gaming add-ons are a great way to expand the length and scope of a videogame. Here are ten of the best.

The story is too old to be commented.

Some very strange and off-the-wall titles in there. NOT your usual suspects!

Exactly what I was thinking. I found it strange that they had point lookout for fallout 3 as I thought that was only marginally better than the pitt (story for it wasn't bad though) and that the BoS one was better as that expanded the game and the level cap as well as adding some interesting story.

Although I haven't played it, I have heard that the Awakening expansion for dragon Age origins was very good and was like a whole new game. That might have got a spot on this in place of something else.

I thoroughly enjoyed Point Lookout for Fallout 3, but one of the best expansions in the recent Fallout series was the Old World Blues expansion for Fallout New Vegas. Seriously wacky and tied in lots of story into a consistent thread, as well as setting the stage for the (slighty disappointing) finale for Vegas.

Gone are the days of great expansions. Sigh. It's all mappacks and DLC these days.

Half Life 1 expansions were amazing sides of the HL universe.

Wonder if any of the upcoming BF3 DLC's will make it onto the list of good expansions...
