Gamers Reflect on What They'll Miss Most About the Old Days

1UP- Gaming is rapidly changing. Whether we're talking about things becoming more digital or new business models or whatever else, the industry already looks a great deal different than it did 10 or 20 years ago and that's only going to continue in the coming decades.

The story is too old to be commented.

Here's what i miss.

1.Getting complete games and not being DLC scammed.
2.Unglitchy games
3.variety of games.
4.Devs trying new ideas and not copying other games that made them successful E.G. FPS copying cod-_-
5.Challenging games.

Have you been gaming for a month or something?

1. Fair enough, although not all games with DLC are incomplete.

2. Haha, that's pretty funny. Most games released way back when were glitch ridden. The internet has brought attention to the glitches in modern games, just because people weren't talking on forums about them doesn't mean they didn't exist.

3. There are still a variety of games, try looking for them.

4. Again, plenty of new ideas, try looking for them. Although you are right about the annoying "lets try and win the cod fanbase" mentality.

5. While true that there are less challenging games, there are still a fair few challenging ones. Difference is though that if a game has people stumped nowadays then they just pop off to youtube to find out how to get past it.

I miss the mystique of buying a new game, you knew it was coming, you read about it in magazines, you waited and anticipated. Nothing was spoiled. These days it feels like the internet has already played the game for you.
Like Majin said above, I also miss complete games. Dlc is great and all but devs finishing a game off 2 months after release is a pain in the arse!

For RPGs, I really miss the lore/charm and the unique names for characters/factions, etc. If you guys have played games like NOX, Fallout 1/2, Icewind Tale, Lands of Lore, etc, you'll know what I mean!
Don't get me wrong, today's RPGs (most of them) are engaging, but it just lacks a bit of the charm of the older games.
