The force is weak on this one.. Epic fail you must.XD
I believe the score. People were really struggling to play this game at last years E3.
I haven't seen a single review without mention of SOME significant control issue, and I've read few that don't describe major issues.
I have it and while it isn't perfect, it still is fun to play. The key to it is staying in one place and following the onscreen prompts exactly. Sure, it isn't one to one and it makes your arms tired as all hell, the game really isn't that bad. My younger kids are 7 & 9 and I play it with them and we really enjoy it. I wouldn't give it a 10 or a 4 for that matter. I feel this game belongs in the 7 to 8 range. You will have major issues if you move all around and don't remain in one spot and flail about and not follow the onscreen prompts. Again ...not perfect, but a great Star Wars experience and a lot of fun if you are a fan and have kids that are fans as well.
It's obviously hard to get every single element of the demographic for the game into the review, but my main problem was the '12' rating almost seeming like a lure to teenage fans when the game appeared blatanly aimed at those under 10. I had much more of a fun time playing it with other people, but felt that we were more laughing AT it than we were with it, which is never a good sign. For those not yet teenagers, though, and parents such as yourself I have no doubt there's fun to be had here, it's just that as a Star Wars video game I feel it falls very flat, especially when compared to the likes of Battlefront, The Force Unleashed and Empire At War, and as a general game it's even worse- try playing Skyrim, Arkham City or Portal 2 before this and you'll see what I mean from a gamer's perspective. Thanks for the feedback, though, I'm always interested to get other people's thoughts!
Yeah, this game isn't a deep deep experience like Skyrim or Arkham City my any means. You just have to take it for what it is. It's definitely geared towards the younger crowd and I felt it was marketed that way as well as marketed in a nostalgic kind of way as well..... I was 8 yrs old when I saw the very first Star Wars: A New Hope in theaters .... I would have killed for this game back then. That being said, the game isn't perfect like I mentioned, but there are some really great "Star Warsy" moments to be had here. I think people are having the issues with the controls because they aren't being patient, calm, and realistic. The controls DO work, you just have to gesture/speak properly (that includes timing, deliberate exagerated moves, and speaking the "Correct" commands. It's not rocket science....it's a game folks.
