I am still hating on EA for ruining Westwood. Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 were the first 2 PC games I spent countless hours on online gaming. I even managed to get in the Top 50 worldwide for Red Alert 2.

Nothing but great times when I think back.

C&C Renegade, Generals and all the other C&C games were just crap. It really breaks my heart.

Studios / Publishers that were closed or ruined:

- Acclaim (Extreme G / Forsaken)
- Zipper (Socom 2)
- Ensemble Studios (AoE)
- Bizarre Creations (PGR, Geometry Wars)
- NeverSoft (Tony Hawk / Guitar Hero)

Many companies nowadays got greedy and completely abandoned their loyal fans for extra money. They pander their games to a new audience. As a result, games have gotten shorter, contain less substance, hold your hand through the game's toughest parts, tell a mediocre story, and then slap on a multiplayer with the same old game modes from the 51,283 other mediocre shooters on the market.

Games are going the way of movies: down the toilet. The only movies I watch nowadays are whatever is on TV, and have yet to see a good movie worth buying within the past decade. I am afraid gaming will end up the same.

Imagine how different the industry would be today if this had happened. Weird to think about what snowball effects this acquisition would've had.
