"Our friend TTP captured and encoded this first video from the demo of Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! available since this morning on the Japanese PSN. More videos will follow soon, without a doubt much more interesting than this mini-game."
..I would understand how to activate this horse riding mini game.
I downloaded both demos and the second one felt like some kind of prostitute dating sim.
Don't worry your not missing much, it's the 3rd one down from the top... all you do is aim and shoot...it's okay at best
"the second one felt like some kind of prostitute dating sim"
Classic, nice one :)
I'm pretty sure this types of mini/side games are pretty popular in Japan.
Thanks for the info.
@MK_Red; Yakuza is indeed very popular in Japan.
True, it's indeed popular there.
BTW, Awesome avatar.
oh, you guys are really misunderstanding...they are not popular at all here...
Hrm they are smart, but that makes me sad, i wanted to kill some bad-guy's (in sight of a yakuza) with a pipe. :(
Downloading this nao!!
They could have showed us something else than just 2mins of horse riding.
this looks great but.......... i kinda liked the modern day setting of the previous two games
i downloaded and played the demo, and it was... meh? also probably cause i cant understand. so yeah, demo sucked.
however, this will probably do well in japan. probably sell 200,000 copies. who knows.
secondly to zhuk. show me yakuza 1, and yakuza 2 on xbox. then we'll see about yakuza 3 on 360. but if it does ever go to the 360. oh well, game is not that great anyway.
200,000 is not "doing well", more like getting by I would think.
These games have always been a big Zzzzz... and will not come in near as close as the Train Sim, Dating Sim or Horse Racing games. Japan is just ODD when it comes to games. Hit or miss, who cares...?
im sure this game will push many ps3s in japan.
This is probably as close as another game has come to the Shenmue series, and it hasnt even been confirmed for release over here. Cmon Sega, loads of people want this game!
My god that was unexciting :P.
that looked cool to me. I bet that builds your stat for something. I"m really hoping they bring this over to states as well as yakuza 2. How many games can you play in feduel Japan!
this seems like it was just a training excerisise for when you meet the baddies in the woods. Poor video quaility.. Yakuza is pretty big in japan. it's part of their culture... Ropongi/Tokyo Japan is the area where the Yakuza dwell. it was interesting to know that they controlled neary half the clubs in the Ropongi area when i was there last year...
while this part of the Game maybe MEH, i'm sure the rest of it with all the action will be good. this game doesn't look to be coming state side at all, so the fact that Sega Knows where it's bread and butter is. making exclusive for thew PS3 was a smart choice in japan.
it's like i've said before. when you know you have a game that can push consoles and offer it as the incentive then you have console seller status.
should provide a boost to PS3 sales, Japan is all set from Jan to march.
I think someone has been telling you stories to make Japan seem cooler.
A) Yakuza are not a big part of the culture. They are a big part of the crime world.
It's like saying the Mafia are a big part of US culture.
Sure they are. In movies and video games, not in real life.
B) Roppongi is not where the Yakuza dwell, they live everywhere with varying degrees of success, and they certainly don't control "more than half" of the clubs there. Unless you're talking about more than half of the strip bars, in which case it is possible, .
C) Why is everyone in this thread ignoring the only Japanese guy here? Look up at Uglygreen's comment.
the controlled a large part of Ropongi. secondly the yakuaza has been around since the fuedal times in japan. maybe such do some history on it before you speak. before it became a criminal affair it was something of just a group helping people along before corruption came apart. you mention the name yakuza it it spans as far back as anyone can japanese can remember.
get your facts together please.
First, I said that the Yakuza are big in movies and in games, but very few people actually care about them in real life.
Next, I didn't say anything about you living here, and I know all about the history of the yakuza, thank you. Whatever they were in the past, now they're just a bunch of drunk idiots who drive through red lights and try to start fights outside bars at night, or people who own gambling parlors and get protection money from bar owners. They aren't cool.
Next, my point about Uglygreen - the only Japanese guy to post here - was that he said that the game Yakuza is not that popular here. Because it's not popular here. It has a following, but unless something changes from the last games, it isn't a system seller. JAPANESE PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT YAKUZA GAMES, ONLY FOREIGNERS WITH HARD-ONS FOR JAPAN DO. This new game is a little different, so it might sell, but probably not, because Japanese people don't care that much about history either.
Finally, when you leave high school, you will learn that when arguing with someone you don't know, even on the internet, it's much more constructive to be polite. Then everyone learns something.
p.s. I live, work, and am raising a family in Japan. I am fluent in Japanese and have a minor in Japanese history from university. My grasp of the facts about the Yakuza is fine, thank you.
Don't be so rude.
Someone told me that naming yakuza when in japan and talking in public is dangerous. Any truth to that?
Not unless you're standing in front of a Yakuza guy and you're saying, "HEY STUPID YAKUZA!"
Otherwise you're fine.
is the demo out for the us?
