Gameplay Impressions: Assassin's Creed III

VGW: With Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, there was a feeling of stagnation in the series; a feeling that the franchise needed a rest from its annual-release cycle. When Assassin’s Creed III was announced, the prospect of a new setting, a new assassin, and a new adversarial force had promise, but without the necessary gameplay and narrative improvements, the game would have the potential plunder fans further down the path of brand exhaustion. While at PAX East 2012, we were given a first look at the gameplay of Assassin’s Creed III, enabling us to see the direction this pivotal entry would take the franchise.
