There is a lot of makeup involved in making a game great, especially memorable. Obviously gameplay and graphics get talked about the most, but what about the music?

I have to respectfully disagree. Licensed music can work just as well as any original score to set the atmosphere for a game. As a matter of fact, I happen to enjoy the use of it. GTA and games like it wouldn't be the same without it.
I having seen soundtrack CD's charging extra for music already on the disc or forcing your friend to pay extra to have the full experience if you lend him the disc. The music industry hasn't become that stupid........
