Looking for a great interactive story? Persona 4's got you covered.

"Between over 100 hours of Giant Bomb’s Endurance Run, the new anime, action figures, and the New Game Plus giving me an excuse to jump back in, I’ve been knee-deep in Persona 4 as of late. On the gameplay side, it’s not bad. I found myself enjoying the combat and the fusing, although doing either for too long will lead to boredom. But the story is another matter." - Mike, Only Single Player (Persona 4, Persona 4 Golden, PS2)

Yeah the story was FANTASTIC! I didn't think I'd be interested in the premise at first, I mean... Cops, murder, crime investigations? Not my cup of tea honestly, but dang if I didn't get sucked in! I did not want this game to end, I played all day and night... If you haven't experienced the story, you NEED to play this game.

Love it!
Thank goodness Atlus is holding a sale right now for the Persona games on the Playstation Store. I would have never know how much like Pokemon, like JRPG's, dungeon hunting, and how Ace Detective-like Persona (specifically p3p) is as a game.

The story is really interesting also, depending on your path. In P3P, I made friends with a high school kid who had a relationship with his older teacher ... and I raised the stats of my little Pokemon. Yes! I liken Persona's to Pokemon and treat them that way in battle and while custimizing stats, moves, etc.

Bottom line: BUY THE PERSONA (1, 2 AND 3) PSP GAMES ON YOUR VITA RIGHT NOW!!!

I would if I had money... D:

Was SERIOUSLY considering finding a way to grab P3P, but yeah... I've played a good bit of the game lol.

Well, the game is going to be jumping from $19.99 to $39.99 if you do not hurry.

they are basically the same P3P just adds a female choice for the main char. I personally like Persona 3 FES more, but there is nothing wrong with P3P.

the ps2 versions are better done , since p3p "downgrade" the tech and the map for the psp . However the psp version got a few extra and changes none of the ps2 versions got .

If you're a fanatic you'll end up owning both anyway

If you had to choose one, which would you buy? Or would you wait for Disgaea 3? I don't know much about JRPGs
Baka-akaB  +   413d ago
Get p3p . Disagea 3 is great , but it's strategy rpg , and eprsona is the better game anyway out of the two , imo .

Just a correction. But the price drops are actually permanent. This was clarified after the reVITAlize event was announced.

The red comment is an admin. There are other sources out there which also confirm the price drops are here to stay.

this article is so bad..........between false generalizations of japanese rpgs, and poor writing, it sounds bad

"Since Persona 4 is a JRPG, you know that the protagonist is going to be important."

So what this is telling me, is in no other type of game, shooter, action, puzzle, fighting, is the protag important
MikeCosimano  +   413d ago
Oh come on, like JRPGs don't have a tendency to include protagonists with "great destinies" or some crap like that.
Myze  +   413d ago
Well, to be honest, I'm not sure how interesting a game would be if the main protagonist (you, the player) is sitting on a bench with a tub of popcorn watching the most important characters do their thing.

Yes, that's an exaggeration, but the entire point of most storylines in games (of all genres) is to give you the perspective of the person most involved in that storyline. Same goes for books and movies the majority of the time.

any Shin Megami Tensei game is an amazing game, seriously if you haven't played any of them you really should check them out

Agreed, as JRPGs go SMT is one series that just never gets old. I have been replaying P4 the past few weeks and loving it as much as I did when it first came out.
