Engadget brings you live news as it break from the Microsoft CES press event.
The intro was funny.
I agree nice goodbye, funny too
gg to bill gates! But that was pretty weak.
Well i'm watching the presentation now.
sounds like there trying to make another home....if im hearing this right sounds just like it
He was about to say playstation. He said "PLaystat..." and then he changed the subject. Or at least that is what it seemed. Edit: It seems that just as Stringer was obsessed with Xbox 360 last year, this year Bill is obsessed with PS3. Or at least the WB news really hit him in the head.
I heard that too! haha That was too funny
doesnt look like Home was that crazy of an idea cause Gates just mentioned something like it with his 3D experiences part.
Wake me if they announce Windows Mobile 7 or Ultimate or something. I still plan on purchasing the Surface for my coffee table.
Is promised by home....im not saying sony will be able to implement it as well ass MS...or even apple
Bill: How did you like that rift man? Bono: Oh, F#ck.
so when did MSoft buy Myspace? :D
Some of this stuff there doing is like apple but much easier and cooler... More TV on Xbox......YEAH....I dont like DD on consoles unless its games and movies....TV shows ..i guees if it works
are they making something like home?
4 of them were mine - 3 were RROD bombs. @bozo: No - the first was a launch 360 - that died and I have twice applied for a reimbursement check which MS has stated was sent months ago. The other two were refurbs sent to me - 1 was DOA and the other died 8 weeks later. I traded that in on my new HALO version which has now frozen during HALO 3 twice.
I guess Microsoft owes you a thank you for not turning in your rrods under warranty.
There are now 10 million users on Xbox Live.
How did Sony approve this? Edit: Yeah, but you wouldn't call Halo 3 on PS3 business for Microsoft, would you? Granted, MGM is not fully owned by Sony, but still, I thought Sony had more power over MGM, given that they had the rights to publish the MGM library as they will. Then again, maybe that's why we saw new movies and not the MGM hits of yesterday. Edit 2: Sony does have some say, but now that I remember, it's only for the old library. "Legally blond" doesn't belong to the "old" library of movies, so my bad. It's still for a limited time anyway... so when it expires I don't doubt that they will appear on MGM (unless Sony shows up with a better deal, given that they already own about 40% of MGM anyway)
it's called business!
MGM is not completely owned by Sony, Sony has no say in MGM's business decisions with other companies.
but what im wondering is microsoft said they SHIPPED 17.7 million no SOLD. so how many were sold? and wait a minute, microsoft pretty much just complemented sony on home. lol funny.
Vista is a great OS for gaming? The next headline must be Bill Gates arrested for crack use.
ya the reason I wont use Vista is because my games play lke crap on it... only got 2 gigs of ram in my box sigh...
Did anybody notice that they're using Sony Vaio notebooks? I found that funny.
This presentation has NOTHING to do with Xbox360 vs Playstation3.
Yes, but Sony is a competitor to Microsoft in electronics and entertainment.
what a load of crap i have seen ms = home ms = myspace ms zune social = singstar they just copie other good bye bill what a wast of time sony are future proof
"Vista is a great OS for gaming, and Windows is far and away the largest gaming platform -- Xbox has had tremendous success as well. 17.7m consoles shipped to date -- in the US through November we did 3.5b in business, more than the Wii and PS3.. more than the spending on Wii and PS3 combined. We also continue to grow on Xbox Live." something is not right here... deja vu?
copied home? How so? I may have missed that.....why is everyone saying they copied home?
cause Gates was talking about 3D enviroments as the next step of interaction and then went on to talk about socializing in a 3D world. pretty much home..
Isn't that how that works also?
"Buy a 360 for use as a STB" Yeah, when your console has already started to show it's age and limitations as a gaming console, find another use...like a doorstop. Also Zune is the Billy Carter of the Microsoft family. The sooner they cut that freak away the better MS will be. EDIT: @tester - The PS3 isn't showing signs of outdated design limitations. There is a big difference between trying to sqeeze another ounce of horsepower out of a machine versus uncovering latent technologies in a machine designed to evolve.
Isn't the PS3 doing the same functions?
That was iitttt ...if they shipped 10.6 million this year..and shipped 17.7 million this year isnt that a 30 percent decrease....from the previous year..but xbox live grew from six million to ten
that last device was cool but????
Yeah it was cool. So was Mira. @Figboy below: Engadget is part of the same people that own Joystiq. If they aren't funded by MS they at least act like it. They turn and burn on Sony at every chance. Take the recent story where Shelling from Konami slammed those 360 MGS4 rumors. Did they report it like that? No that started with it's a cover because they are going to do it anyway blah blah blah. Yet take the same type of rumors and a game that will actually run on a competitor's platform - Mass Effect or Bioshock (take your pick) and they hammer those rumors into the ground. PS3 fanboy is part of the same network and they slam Sony too. Screw those clowns over there.
I'd give Bill more money than that for getting "Slash" on stage.
LOOKS LIKE THE ULTIMATE WAS SCRAPPED DUE TO RECENT EVENTS,BUT ANYWHOOO,HANNAH MONTANA ON LIVE WAS THEIR BIG XBOX ANNOUNCEMENT,BLOODY CLOWNS
I'm disappointed that MediaRoom is not available yet in the US.
No 360 announcements...is it possible we'll hear it later on in the week?
I forgot how cool and funny were Bill Gates' sketches. BTW, didn't Bill Gates' with the touchtable reminded you of Little Big Planet? Customization and all that sh1t...
Well some of the stuff was cool, still think the "surface" technology is awesome but that's years down the road to being used in everyday life. Other than that nothing.
of smarminess from endgadget while covering *THIS keynote. the Sony press conference was *LACED with [email protected] comments and [email protected] coverage. they were practically staring at Bill Gates all doe-eyed the entire time. i'm never going to endgadget again (this was the first time i had gone to the site), if they cover *ALL news with such blatent bias (or maybe they assumed that nobody would read the Sony CES conference accept the haters). pathetic. on topic, the conference wasn't too bad. it had humor, at least. i liked what i read of the opening skit, and there was some fun stuff happening, but endgadgets coverage of the Sony conference ticked me off. "objective" journalism my @SS.
but all of this was just very anti-climactic and pretty much lame. imho
all the talk of ultimate 360 BS. So disney, MGM and all other people soon offering stuff on XBL. Well all of them Blu-Ray supporters, so where did MS loose in this again? MS is gonna have a great year... For the guy above me this is not E3, WTF were you excpecting? A new Xbox ultimate?
Or am I missing something here? Some boasting of numbers and visions of the future, but not much concrete.
Connect Lol something we are doing right now on facebook, mypace.singstart X box live, psn Home.. Bill has made the worst exit in history it would of been the best if then new x box was seen or announced its all crap this keynote i cant wait till Tuesday to see sony key note on ps3
your nothing more than a sony fanboy
Seeing that it's Bill last keynote, here a vid to remember him by. http://uk.youtube.com/watch...
