Maybe Microsoft and Nintendo are in desperate need of new hardware, but the PS3 still has a lot of life left. There's no need to rush into the new generation if you're not ready, Sony.
Sony can release the PS4 whenever they want because they are still doing an awesome job supporting the PS3, and I'll buy a PS4 when I find it necessary to go next gen but that doesnt mean there arent lots of other people wanting to go next gen much sooner
2013 is a good year for MS & SONY to release next-gen systems my opinion
Who said they were rushing it? I only saw a rumor that said they were confident they would release first. This means that PS4 should be in the final stages of development and is almost ready....or else they wouldn't be confident would they?
I don't know why they are telling THEM this. It's not Sony that rushed out their console
please dont rush to beat m$ because the rumored tech sucks for a sony next-system!
look at it this way, if the PS4 does launch it will still be at the high end price, and since it contains relatively cost competitive parts it would be profitable day one. another factor, since the PS4 is rumored to be non-backward compatible, its sales will be mild but still profitable... at the same time, PS3 will still have software launching for it and will probably be at the $149-$199 price range by then and be profitable too... also, the PSV, PS2 and PSP will still be selling at a profit for Sony... i think this time, Sony's taking the Nintendo way and just improve the software and services offerings...
I really feel that this gen still has a lot to offer, PS3 is still a superb Blu-ray player and high- definition game console.
