Gaming Blend "According to the confessions of the EA viral marketer, his boss slightly alluded to EA being on the prowl for a fan-favorite company, saying "EA's going to buyout another firm soon and a lot of people won't be happy about it."
Hope EA doesn't get their greedy mitts on CDProjekt or R*...Wouldn't buy another game from either studio ever again because of the online passes/cut out content and terrible origin.
I agree. If they buy them then it will ruin one of the best developers out there currently especially for the PC.
We have heard these kinds of comments and empty threats. At the end of the day, the internet epeens have proven time and time again that they have zero buying power. *takes out small violin*
Hopefully non. EA just buy dev with some potential then just throw em away if they didn't meet their "standards" Pandemic, Westwood and so on.

LEAVE CDP ALONE, EA. Or any one of other devs.
Please no. EA buying something out means more money for the company for a few years, but completely ruining their franchises.
Or Epic Games
Epic could be on the table but I doubt it. They license out the Unreal Engine way too much and that alone will keep them afloat for a long time. Unless, of course, EA wants licensing royalties from all Unreal Engine licencees. Also, I doubt EA would buyout Epic when they already have DICE's FB 2.0 that they sort of license internally throughout their numerous studios.
I also doubt that happens with Gears of War floating around. Last thing MS wants is EA buying another studio that causes a first party game to go multiplatform. I'm pretty positive Gears is partially owned by MS so it won't be another Mass Effect, but under EA any future titles wouldn't be allowed to be exclusive.
I hope thq. I would love to see a good wwe game again!
And what would make EA do anything different with WWE that they haven't done with MMA? Didn't they just shut down the servers for that game?
i preferred mma to undisputed. wwe has been the same for like 5 years. EA could provide more r&d funds then thq!
I hope THQ because I don't want to see them go under. Way too many games I'm looking forward to coming from them...
Doesn't EA lose money every quarter, how are they buying all these studios?
They make millions every quarter. What bro you on about?
I don't know what that means
How bout they just resurrect Westwood and Bullfrog instead?
Isn't rockstar owned by take-two?
yeah its actually pretty funny how so many people think that they are their own company lol its good that their not cause the whole "hot coffee" thing back in the day would have bankrupted them look it up they lost a shit load
EA has ruined more games/game companies than anyone else. I wish they would collapse.
EA should buy no one and just focus on themselves for once. Studios like Rockstar and Valve make great games and do great work because of their autonomy from the rest of the industry. EA however, does not understand this nor will they ever like the other 95% of the industry that is run by these big-buisness know-nothings that only care about what's going into their wallets and not onto the gamer's hands.
I think theres a misconception about EA going on around or maybe im misinformed. EA may not be the best publisher around but I believe they've been part of some of the best and new IP's. I had a look at wikipedias entries and was stunned at the number of titles they published. Many were new and risky and many didnt do well but EA did support and take the risks which says something. Many kinds of games wouldnt exist today so Im beginning to get confused as to why the hate exists. So after going through the list I picked some as examples that I really liked. I know some pply may not like a few games because they were below expectations but nevertheless they happened and was fun to play. In the end when I goto my mates house they are busy playing fight night or fifa and Im busy killing reapers and a whole bunch of other EA games. Fortunately they made those happen. So if EA were to buy a dev, they should get CD project because they deserve the support and funding as long as CDPR gets the full freedom to do what they want and we get to play a good game. Who cares what goes in inside, I know now working for various prod companies in music vids that I would be priviledged to get into some of the big ones even tho they may be dickheads in some way, atleast I'll get the resources to do my thing. Imagine CDPR with EA level of resource into The Witcher 3. Some games I picked from the list in wikipedia. They published a loooot of games' but below are some of my favs. Mass Effect-1,2,3 Crysis-1,warhead,2 Battlefield-since 1942- BF3 Kingdoms of Amalur Dragon Age-1,2 Burnout-some of them including Paradise and takedown Undying Cricket-Not sure many have the guts to make this Dead Space Delta Force Fifa-dont think I need to list them :D Fight Night LOTR Battle for middle earth-1,2 Madden Medal of Honor Mirror's Edge NBA-another long list NeedForSpeed-another long list Road Rash :D :D :D Shogun-both were awesome Sims-1,2,3 great, never played the huge list of expansions tho Syndicate Xena-lol lol school days stuff Im not an EA fanboy. Posted this after I realized I own a lot of EA published games and am a happy gamer. In the end the credits go to the devs but publisher backing is a huge part and thankfully EA made some of them happen.
"as long as CDPR gets the full freedom to do what they want" But if you take a look at every studio EA owns, we already know this WON'T be the case. If EA gets their hands on them, it will end up like every other studio they own.
I dont know what happened to every studio they own coz clearly im not an insider but I do like their games and the only drm I dont like is staying online all the time which ive not faced yet. Only some Ubisoft games bothered me with that. I can play BF3 SP, ME3, Crysis 1,2 and many others offline on origin. If EA wants to make some money and we want to buy their games I dont see whats wrong. Maybe EA does suck but Im not too informed on that, maybe some articles with reliable sources would shed some light. Ive been getting interested in the whole pubs/devs/media controversy crap since West and Zampella vs Activision but it seems I dont see the whole picture of the inner workings. Somehow it feels game sites are being propagandist about many of these things as to who is good and bad etc. I say judge by the game.
Hell no,EA would force CPR to add some crappy online mode/ cut out content and charge for dlc packs/online passes.
Mass Effect - Bioware - was only a recent purchase, they will degrade in time. And some believe they already have. (ME3 controversy) Burnout - Criterion - Paradise lost the Burnout formula, crashes were less fixated on (not even a crash mode, WTH?) one giant open level which felt way to much like NFS, Takedown only got EA's name on due to the buyout, they had no involvement whatsoever with it's creation. Also i see you left off their recent work, no doubt for good reason too, they are falling. Sims - Maxis - Sims is a hit, unfortunately for Maxis that seems to be all they make now. Prior to the merger they made tons of Sim based games. Sports games are generally only created by EA cause they hold the rights to the real teams and Shooters... meh
YOU'RE ONE OF THEM!!! You guys! I found one!!
I really think CD Projekt is completely out of the picture on this one. Everything EA does goes strongly against their beliefs, such as DRM and paid DLC, and they already stated in a recent interview that they will never do either of them.
CD PRojeKt own Gog.com, they make more money than most publishers besides activision/blizzard and EA, hell, cd projekt probably sees more profit than ubisoft, i highly doubt they are on the table thq, sure...they are in the shit.....knee deep in the shit
I think if EA is going to buy anyone, THQ should be it. Dont get me wrong I don't want to see THQ go to EA, but its a good buying option for a company like EA. So many franchises they can take control of.
XD CD Projekt pretty big, the own their own game service and release games fairly frequently. Doubt they would come close to being bought.
