Not always true... "In fact, most good games dont."
By your logic, a game doesn't have a demo because it will most likely be a good game - obviously not true. Dr. House is correct - it's usually a bad sign.
Developers don't want to release a demo of their game, because they don't want consumers to know that their new game could potentially be a turd. They want to capitalize on every single possible sale. Why do you think that Activision has no demos for their Call of Duty games? It's a marketing strategy. When asked why, they resort to silly methods like "The game is too complex to strip down into a demo."
If you shell out $60 for a shiny new release and find out that it's simply crap (been happening quite a lot this gen), it's too late - they already have your money.
I used no such logic :/ I dont know where you got that idea from.
I was just looking over my game collection, and almost every single game I own from this generation, besides maybe 6 or 7, never had a demo. Here are just a few examples;
LA Noire didnt have a demo.
Uncharted 3 didnt have a demo.
Dark Souls didnt have a demo.
Skyrim didnt have a demo.
Portal 2 didnt have a demo.
Alan Wake didnt have a demo.
Red Dead Redemption didnt have a demo.
GTA IV didnt have a demo.
Dragon Age didnt have a demo.
BioShock didnt have a demo.
The list goes on... Just becuase something doesnt have a demo, doesnt mean they dont want you to play it. It doesnt mean there is something wrong with it. It just means they dont have the time/the money/the resources to put one out, or they simply dont want to.
Whats with gamers these days being so damn paranoid?
