I think the general idea is that LBP is the lego of the digital generation and so, just like that franchise, there should be no problem adopting it for other products. it's not the game you need to be looking at to see the bigger picture, it's the creation tools. the toys for budding developers. that's what LBP and MM are marketing here and i for one love it
It's not a spinoff because Sony has lbp and mnr had the same concept so instead of them competing they made the selling point that it's a racer with play create share and not a platformer with pcs.
why do we need to label it as a spin-off? it's not like any LBP before has any significant story, let alone have any relation in terms of stories between them.
All I care about is the controls, if you have to drift constantly like MNR im not buying it. Controls are by far the most important thing, then local splitscreen (which it will have), battle modes etc. Unfortunately i think i saw some drifting in the trailer, when i heard it was made by the MNR devs i feared this and it maybe true.
control, and speed ! mario kart is always ridiculously too slow (i've bought the japanese n64 cardrige for a speeder experience, but it was not enough), with slow races, driving and reflex are not so importants, only luck for bonus is.
If this isn't a spin off than Mario Kart isn't a spin off.
saying it doesnt make it true
Hopefully that's the case, it looks really good so far and I'm looking forward to seeing the new creation tools.
