If you'd like to see more of Dead or Alive 5, but haven't been able to get your hands on the demo, AtemSK5 uploaded quite a bit of gameplay footage from the public build of the game.
The DOA series has always been nice to look at, but I just can't get into it. The fighting system never felt good to play. Doesn't look like there's anything in this entry to make me consider giving it another shot.
Hmmm, I'm liking the new look of the women; they no longer look overly sexed-up. However, gameplay-wise, I'm not quite too sure with the inclusion of the cinematic attack sequences. Kinda breaks the flow of the combat for me is all.
I have the 4 player demo. The cinematic attack sequences don't feel out of place. You only 'need' them for certain stage interactions - (like when the car goes over the wreckage) but you don't need them to knock players off the edge of the stage - strong attacks will work also. The cinematic attack also gives you a few seconds to 'aim' the direction in which you send the opponent . Personally , I really like the demo. The AI is good , not quite as brutal as DOA 4 , but a lot more challenging then DOA Dimensions. The graphics are great - + there's lots of little details , like when you knock a character on the ground they look dirty, or into the water - they look wet. I like the change in art style too.
Looks like Hayashi plans on ruining this franchise too.
-Removed DOA characters for MORE Virtua Fighter characters.
-Added stupid power blow mechanic that sends you full screen into the environment even if you're not near it & breaks your guard if you try to block it.
-Removed the advanced 4 point counter system for the 3 point counter system.
-Less fanservice with female characters/No more character charm (anime design).
-Hayashi said it's no longer a "fighting game" & that it's "fighting entertainment".
In other words it's now just a casual, non-competitive game...I mean "entertainment". The character designs are like changing a classic character into something they're not (ex: Crash Bandicoot after leaving Naughty Dog).
DOA5 is garbage. Just give me a port of DOA4 on PS3 or a HD Collection of DOA2 & 3.
