With worldwide sales already exceeding 2.5 million units, Assassin's Creed is here to stay. GameDaily speaks with the folks at Ubisoft about creating yet another successful new IP.
Glad to see gamers didn't listen to crazy reviews and bought this fantastic game for themselves. Hope they address the bugs and problems for AC2 and make it a truly timeless classic.
assassin creed was very disappointing
I will also pass I was so dissapointed on Assasins Creed. I am one of those 2.5 millions that bout Assasins Creed. The biggest problem of this game for me is the fighting engine. I never really got in to it. THe story is alright they need to fix the gameplay first before I will buy the next one. I bought Assasins Creed over uncharted which I regret.
I don't get it. You're talking about AC as if it's the worst game of 2007. In my eyes it was all worth it's hype but even in a much harsher view, AC was easily a 8/10 game. I really don't get it how everyone was anticipating AC and the moment negative reviews were in, most people started saying that they didn't care for AC in the first place. Of course, I'm not talking about everyone. I can understand a few not liking it as much as others. Every game has a few people that just don't like it. I've seen BioShock haters, COD4 haters, Halo 3 haters, Uncharted haters and such. Some of them have their personal and valid points while some just want to hate :(
But AC truly sucked a huge fatty.
agree, i love AC, love the killing, love jerusalem, love damascus, love acre, love the hot blonde jaja...this game is great!!
I'll buy this tomorrow
All the bugs and freezes, but that is fixed now, right? Anyway it is a boring repetitive game!!! Everybody knows that, the end!
this game is very good graphics nothings wrong with it
If the sequel get release on a year and a half or less. I may get it the game... Come on they already got the assets and the resource the sequel may not take a long time.
Awesome story, character, graphics, and initial gameplay. but yes, the dreaded "repetitive" criticism. Two things to improve the game. First, yes the battle system just improve it. I don't know how, I'm not a game dev. Second, make each mission a bit different and varied. Boom, instantly improved game.
Would be great if they actually made the original playable first as the game is full of glitches and bugs still even after the supposed patch that would fix the issues. Ubisoft need to get the 1st Sorted asap. Bloody Peasants!
Assassin's Creed is far too repetitive: 1. Go to the city 2. Scale a tower to locate the sub missions 3. Complete the same four sub missions 4. Assassinate the target 5. Goto 1 Repeat 7 or 8 times.
I was hoping for so much more gameplay and a much richer story. Unfortunately I was playing it the same time as Uncharted so it came up looking and playing alot less spectacular as Uncharted. It got better toward the end but it was repetitive. I hope they do a much better job on the second one, the concept was cool but the bugs and the cut scenes were too long.
I was really interested in this game, but when those reviews came out! ...However, just before Christmas, the GAME store here in the UK, reduced it for their pre-christmas sale from 44.95 to 29.95, so I took a chance and bought it. Now prior to this game, I’d just completed Uncharted, and having now completed Assassins Creed, to me the graphics don’t compare, Uncharted really looks next gen, and makes Assassins Creed in places look distinctly last gen, even the animation in places in AC bugged me. Uncharted really went to town with the smallest detail or animation used to really make you feel transported into its gaming world (much like a good film does). Whereas in AC an npc handing over documents to you, but doesn’t hand you anything, your character doesn’t even put his hand forward to receive anything. It’s just a default animation of an empty hand moving forward with the dialogue stating “here have this”. All the npc’s in AC are constantly repeating the same dialogue with perhaps only 3-4 variations of things said. Now there are other things, like the repetitive game play elements, some graphical glitches, so your connection to the gaming world gets broken. I could go on, except I don’t want to sound like I’m really put this game down. Because, even with its faults, it has its good points. The recreation of the city’s and general environment that connects these city’s is great, the horse you ride rivals the animation of that used in “Shadow of the Colossus”, and “Altair” is a great character. Every new IP always has some problems that usually, if the first game is successful enough in sales to warrant a sequel, get fixed or improved upon. So, for me, Assassin Creed is really worth playing, just for the freedom of movement it gives you running through those streets and jumping from roof top to roof top. Don’t let the reviews convince you its all bad, it has a lot of good points, you just have to look past some of the bad ones first. It deserves a sequel . . . they just better make sure that the glitches are fixed and more variety in game play is present.
i dont get some of you how was AC dissapointing, its great. obvously u have let the reviews get to your heads and decided not to even like it before you play it.
It sucks. I rented it and returned it the next day. Couldn't imagine anyone paying 60 bucks for it.
See No.16 Predator for my feelings.
I thought it was pretty good. A little repetitive, sure, but then again most games are.
I'll pass. Maybe if they can let me skip the EFFIN CUTSCENES which take like 50 million hours...and they should fix some bugs, also get more than 3 ppl to do the voice acting of the pedestrians (Y)
Although I haven't finished the game yet I thought it was pretty good. I admit that I was a little disappointed in how open the sandbox actually was. There isn't enough to do. You have the main assassination and the sub missions attached to it but for being so open, that was it. Hopefully the second will add more. Maybe shops for throwing knifes and weapon upgrades a currency system. getting locked up and being able to escape. Variety to the sub missions. ability to hide inside houses instead of them just being concrete blocks you can climb on. The game was good and I still want to go back and complete it but there was a lot missing. Collecting all the hidden packages unlocks new memories right? They should unlock an apache and infinite ammo, ah that's a different game but hey, assassinations in an apache would be different.
AC is one of those games that u can't pass. Its great and innovative, we want more games like this... We are all sick of FPShooters.
