The adventure game genre has long held claim to the best stories, dialog, humor and characters, with The Longest Journey standing tall among its peers. A sequel called Dreamfall came out years later, and took the series out of the 2D adventure genre to make it a third person action/adventure. Point & click fans cried foul, and I never bothered playing Dreamfall despite my love for its predecessor. Dreamfall has an excellent story as well (about on par with the original in my opinion), though everything else about the game seems as if it was designed implicitly to get you to stop playing. The UI is clunky, the camera is retarded, and the combat...dear sweet mother of mary, the combat. It's no exaggeration to say it has some of the worst combat in any major release...ever.
