God of War Could Come to Vita, iOS

IGN- God of War, one of Sony's most lucrative and well-known exclusive franchises, may very well find life beyond the PlayStation 3. Stranger yet, you may yet see God of War on a non-Sony platform at some point. In an interview IGN conducted with Sony Santa Monica's Senior Director of Product Development Shannon Studstill, it was revealed that Sony is exploring avenues to bring God of War to PlayStation Vita and beyond.

There is no 'could' in terms of a God of War game on the Vita, it /will/ happen at some point. The God of War games on the PSP were two of the best PSP games, i can definitely see a God of War came for the Vita on it's way.

Do you have any idea how many copies they would sell on iOS? They would make more on iOS than they did with the PS3 version and that's guaranteed.. their base is huge! Apple has over 150 million active CC customers. Do it Sony make it happen, I want Kratos on my new iPad 3.

svoulis2380d ago

LOL you think "iPad gamers" would throw down 30 dollars for a game. Fat chance.

This is one of the big reasons the iPad will never be a console of any kind because the games people love and play are no more than 10 dollars and last no more than a couple hours.

MmaFan-Qc2380d ago

"Could Come to Vita"

lmao, it will, without a single doubt.

adorie2380d ago

If iPad owners will throw down 600+ on an overpriced tablet that is underpowered, then 30 bucks for a GoW game on iOS is definitely feasible.

meetajhu2380d ago

You mean the cheap iPad gamers who prefer 0.99$ games? No chance for ios to run Vita quality titles.

Arksine2380d ago

iPad owners don't throw down $600+ on those tablets for gaming. They aren't going to buy AAA games in large volume. Its just not the right demographic.

Also, iOS apps are limited to 2GB in size. Now that's plenty big enough for most mobile games, but I would expect AAA franchises like GOW to take full advantage of the 4GB allowed by Vita memory cards.

F7U122380d ago (Edited 2380d ago )

Sure absolutely, as long it's a quality product I don't see any reason why iOS users wouldn't pay $30 for a game.

*edit- I love how people here know with absolute certainty what a person would be willing to spend or purchase. It's f**king amazing. lol

Now if you don't mind I'm going to go play Skyrim for a bit(ENB+HDmods+on Ultra :P) as I'm tired of talking about this hypothetical BS.

tarbis2380d ago

LOL! If you can afford an overpriced ipad 3 then you can easily buy a ps vita that can perform far better than ipad 3.

F7U122380d ago (Edited 2379d ago )

How exactly is the iPad overpriced? Can any other tablet out there do what the iPad does? More importantly can those other cheap tablets run iOS, or interface with iTunes and its massive library of content? No? So then...pfft!

Ok time for skyrim. lol

fear882379d ago

Lol. God of War was on my dumbphone as a java game back in 2008. LOL I forgot what it was called but it was by far the best dumbphone game I played.

BrutallyBlunt2379d ago

Doesn't Sony own the IP God of War? If so don't expect this franchise to come out on IOS devices, not legally. As for Vita, of course it will come out on Vita. Sony has invested far too much to let their IP's to only be on the Playstation 3.

Besides, this way Sony can continue marketing how their games are only possible on their devices.

Kohven2379d ago (Edited 2379d ago )

You say "Can any other tablet out there do what the iPad does?"...Can you tell me why your overpriced P.O.S doesn't have flash...hmm LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Actually ASUS Transformer Prime can. It has a Quadcore CPU, and an even more powerful GPU for $300 dollars less then the IPad 3 and it can use a controller. Gamestop sells them, check their website.

You wasted absolutely no time to contradict yourself.

People complaining about GOW coming to IPAD......Its a sony exclusive why in the world would they want a system seller to be on a another platform. Especially one that many believe is ruining gaming. I, for sure, would never want to play God of War with a touch screen. I DONT UNDERSTAD WHY PEOPLE DONT REALIZE YOU NEED BUTTONS TO PLAY A GAME CORRECTLY!

faysal2380d ago

"vita and beyond" means vita and playstation suit smartphones.... not ios since its not an sony device and sony has no intension of bringing playstation games to other divice sine it will kill the perpuse of buying sony and playstation devices.

Waddy1012380d ago

Smart Ball isn't a PlayStation game.

faysal2380d ago

Waddy101 said is all, i think you should have a word with ur self and say to ur self that next time i should do a better job on understating/research things

tarbis2380d ago (Edited 2380d ago )

You do realize that there is no Playstation during that Super NES year.
You must have starting gaming yesterday.

BubloZX2379d ago

LMAO that's gotta be a new record for agree to disagree ratio.

I'm pretty sure Sony have said that they would look into ISO after the ps suite or whatever it's called is sorted for android?

faysal2379d ago

playstation suit is only for sony smartphones. even if you have an android device you wont have access to it.

joeorc2379d ago

"I'm pretty sure Sony have said that they would look into ISO after the ps suite or whatever it's called is sorted for android?"

that is 100% correct, Sony also said it wasnted to bring the Playstation Suite certification to PC's, Smart TV's the PS3 an Windows Phone OS.

@faysal

"playstation suit is only for sony smartphones. even if you have an android device you wont have access to it."

No that's not True, the Playstation Suite is not just for Sony only made Devices. Its a Unified Development platform for any device that is Playstation Suite Certified. That can be from any manuf. that Passes the Certification of said device submitted to Sony for Certification. Its open to all manuf.

faysal2378d ago

joeroc

true but atm only sony makes playstation suite phones since its sonys product and in terms of other companny no one is offering this service and it might just stay that way, cz it will have no purpose of buying sony products with speacial future called playstation suite, which makes it standout from other phones. every companny wants to keep their A game to them self cz the competition is really high now so i dont see sony letting other companny use playstation suite. just like video and music unlimited sony will keep their service to them self. also if sony really wanted to bring playstation suite to other phones then we would have seen it buy now since playstation suite has been out erly 2011.

consumers buy stuff cz of the exclusive stuff they get out of the product, if it has non then their is no point in buying that product...

and sony said they would like to expand on their service now this can mean anything depending on how people take it.

nevin12380d ago
