With dancing, pod racing, rancor destruction, 3D and Jedi powers galore, could this be the best Kinect game to date?

Well, here's hoping. The E3 reveal, I think we've all probably realised that it was smoke being blown up our ass, much like Sony's old videos that pretended to be in-game; Killzone 2/Motorstorm. Yet what I've seen of Kinect Star Wars since E3 has looked frankly quite awful from both control and gameplay perspective. The light-sabring is obviously what we were all excited about, but, have they really managed to nail it now?

I'm not quite convinced, but reading something promising for a change regarding the game can bring some new hope. All we need now is a demo.

Being the best Kinect game isn't something that is hard to achieve. With a cool license behind it, the KSW is bound to "feel" good to fans whether the game is poop or not.

Agreed....This game will be a pile of dog crap, but will sell like it's made of gold. Especially with that Star Wars console, I hate everything about kinect, but damn I want that.

Yeah, how many times have we heard that one before it either bombs or no one gives a damn? How many games were supposed to be the 'best' Kinect game ever or 'bring the hardcore' in? How many times are people going to keep saying that before they realize that the hardcore don't give a damn?

Kinect's still very much a casual affair, and it does this quite well for the most part. Kinect Star Wars has always looked to be that same "casual" take on the universe, the big question is whether it's going to be any good or not.

Having said that, after playing the Mass Effect 3 demo with Kinect, it's nice to see the sensor be used in a way that can compliment our own 'hardcore' experience. I doubt we'll ever get a title deemed hardcore that works exclusively with Kinect, though there are a few that take traits from both camps. I personally rate The Gunstringer highly, love that game, nothing else like on it Kinect.

Much like Mass Effect 3 making use of the Kinect, Steel Batallion makes use of gestures in addition to our trusty Xbox 360 controllers, giving us some invisible switches and levers to pull besides that of the controller itself.

I enjoyed the hell out of this game at E3. I am really looking forward to it.

What I've seen makes it look like it's trying for some variety, which certainly gives it a chance. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

You mean like those other mini-game collections already found on Kinect? Is there even a story to play through with this Star Wars thing?

Kinect Star Wars (2012): A Journey Through the Galaxy with Motion Controls

One of the worst things to happen to Star Wars was it being exclusive to Kinect when PS Move could have been a better version because of "buttons" per Kevin with better tracking. And the controller looking like a light saber hilt. Or, had an actual light saber game similar to the dojo in Vader Immortal.

But the miming lies on the Microsoft E3 stage was icing on the cake of this garage. Wasn't even live gameplay. Just bad acting. Nothing ground breaking about this travesty.

Star Wars is Best Suited for AA Gaming, Not AAA

WTMG's Leo Faria: "This piece wasn’t meant to say that Star Wars‘ gaming future is ruined forever, nor that there isn’t a chance for a good AAA Star Wars game to come out in the near future. I need to reiterate that, yes, I’m looking forward to Jedi Fallen Order. Then again, as a massive Star Wars fan, like most of you I miss the days when we would get loads of titles a year, each one focused on one specific feature of the franchise. I’d rather have a slew of smaller Star Wars games being released every year, some good and some not as good, than one big generic title being released every two years. These are always at the risk of being criticized due to typical AAA practices like expensive season passes, cut content, or microtransactions. Had Disney allowed for anyone, especially mid-range developers and publishers, to bring their creative and risk-free ideas to life, I’m sure fans would have rejoiced. And Disney’s pockets would most certainly fill up faster than nowadays."

The Wiseau Awards - Kinect Star Wars (Xbox 360)

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Kinect Star Wars gave me the opportunity to witness Darth Vader and the Emperor dancing to Deadmau5's "Ghosts n' Stuff" like a couple of teenage ravers on ecstasy. That's the best thing I never thought I'd ever see in my life."
