OXCGN’s I Am Alive Review: Dead in the Dust?

OXCGN:

"After more than five years in production – including a change in developers in 2010 – the latest post-apocalyptic game has staggered onto the 360 with little fanfare.

Originally slated for retail release, takeover developers Ubisoft Shanghai made the bold decision in 2011 to downscale, making it an XBLA release only.

Weighing in at a hefty 1.7 gigabytes, I Am Alive is far from bite-sized; and it’s a reasonably meaty single-player experience, although its jarring introduction fails to impress."

The story is too old to be commented.

I played the trial, and wasn't impressed... it's a shame it got knocked down to purely downloadable.

I'm actually really impressed. It can become a bit 'chorish' because you have to redo things but by limiting resources it really does make you think about how you go about things...do I put my hands up, wait for them to come to me and slash at them, do I use my last bullet?

The desperation climbing is less fun, but I like that it isn't another shoot everyone game. And the fact there are no zombies or infected for a change in a post apocalyptic game.

The comparison the reviewer makes to a 9-11 dustscape is eerily true too..

Despite the problems, I'm still sort of excited to give this one a look. I really like that they tried something new with the combat.
