Levine confident BioShock Infinite will stand out during busy October

Eurogamer:
Irrational Games boss Ken Levine is confident shooter BioShock Infinite will stand out during the busy month of October 2012.
Infinite launches in Europe on 19th October, days before Medal of Honor: Warfighter and a week and a bit before Assassin's Creed 3. (BioShock: Infinite, Ken Levine, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I don't understand the meaning behind September-November gaming releases. It would be much better for us gamers and for publisher to release their Triple A games throughout the whole year, specificly dry summer, look at Deus Ex and his August release date. I was perfect time to release this game before last years September-November slaugher of games and it did better than expected.

This years is looking the same, Borderlands, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider and many others in September, BioShock Infinite, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Assassins Creed 3 in October and new CoD, Resident Evil 6 in November. At that's just confirmed release dates in past weeks, and we still have E3 in 3 months, so pile of the games, that we are interested in will be even higher.

All and all, it looks like we have another amazing gaming year.

i agree, i never got that either. if i had to guess its prob just becuase they want to have their game on the new release wall when Christmas rolls around. however if i was a game dev, id put it out in the summer becuase there are literally no games to play from july to late august/sept. and i certainly wouldn't want to go up against cod.

at least this summer i have darksiders 2 in late june and im convinced that will be one of if not my game of the year.

also bioshock infinite does look damn good.

Well the other two games don't interest me in the slightest, so you have my full attention Mr. Levine.

Right?! Honestly is there a single video game coming out this year as exciting as Infinite? It will most definitely stand out.

Although I do have to say, AC3 trailer was badass. Hopefully its not as boring and easy as the rest of the series.

I really don't see a problem with Bioshock standing out in November. It's easily the most anticipated game this year.
