After the release of the Spring Showcase ViDoc about a week ago, Infinite Ammo has decided to share their expectations (and gripes) with the world. Excited for Halo 4? Already disappointed? Find out why we're both.
Bungie - "Join our development team to see the new updates arriving with Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Releasing on June 4, 2024."
Amid ongoing anxiety within Bungie following layoffs last year, the studio is now preparing for another shakeup, this time on Marathon.
Talk about mismanaged Bungie is a studio of tremendous potential and have made some of the greatest shooters to date. Sony pushed them to just make another Destiny style game and consult on other studios live service games and are now getting thrown under a bus as the pivot away from predominantly gaas games is unfolding.
I'd love to see a world where Bungie can focus on telling great sci fi stories again away from a live service dungeon but we all know that's a pipe dream
This studio has had three owners and its never worked well with any of them....Management has issues
Destiny 2’s game director Joe Blackburn is stepping down ahead of The Final Shape, leaving Tyson Green to take the reins of the PS5 and Xbox FPS.
As someone who bought every story DLC for DESTINY 2 but not every season. the first thing I would do as game director is , if anybody pre-orders The ?Final Shape , they will be able to play all older DLC and seasons with purchase of FINAL SHAPE. . I think that would bring back a lot of DESTINY 2 plsyers who have not experienced the seasons a chance to play season activities before Final Shape comes out.
"I suppose, it’s easiest to just say that I’m scared. Scared that the fun co-op / multi-player experience I was waiting for is going to get buried under a ton of good intentions."
I agree completely. As someone who grew up with the original trilogy, I do worry they'll try too hard and ruin it. This is typically what happens when a series continues after its expected ended. So it's highly likely I'll just stay away and keep my memories of the original safe. it's why I haven't watched any trailers or viddocs. So yeah, I'm worried, outside of bungie Im worried
i think it looks sweet and im glad to see bungie removed from it. the sp campaigns were very hit or miss in terms of fun for me ( i do think halo 1 and 3 have some of the best shooter campaigns ever though ) and the story was shit on every game which is sad becuase they could have pulled from the books if they needed to.
bungie had its time and they did decent with it. i enjoyed 1-3 but not reach or odst ( except firefight, lots of fun ).
and i noticed he complained about the maps being completely original and not pulled from the campaign. that is a damn good thing no matter how you try to spin it. is it out of place? maybe but the multiplayer isnt exactly known for its story despite their best efforts. most people care more about a fun level design as opposed to whether it "fits" or not. i say take all the creative liberties you need to make the maps as fun as possible and the less assets you recycle the better.
We all have our concerns and hopes for the new trilogy. However, 343i have done a decent job so far (besides making some changes to Reach's multiplayer that I didn't like i.e. getting rid of swordbase in infection).
We just have to have faith and place our faith in them. Although that will be tough without a public/private beta...either way I'm super hyped for Halo 4.
My personal favorite Halo was ODST. I have always come to halo for its story and getting away from the space opera and get into a story about ordinary marines was not a nice but an awesome change of pace for me. Reach trying and failing to live up to that and failing so hard put me soooo low that I'm glad to see 343 change the formula up a bit.
