Atomic: Ubisoft, please don’t “evolve the vision” of Rainbow Six: Patriots

Atomic: Should we be concerned about a possible new direction for Rainbow Six: Patriots? We pray it ain't so...

"It’s that last lengthy phrase that has me worried. Couple that with the potentially disturbing implications of Mallat’s claim that Team Rainbow is now “evolving the vision,” and there’s cause for concern. First and foremost, evolution is a subjective term; particularly in the gaming world. Too often the word is thrown around with sequels, and the actuality of the so-called evolution is that it really isn’t evolved at all, or that the original espoused ideas have been watered down… just ask Peter Molyneux." (PC, PS3, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Patriots, Xbox 360)

There is rainbow six Vegas 2 on the psn, for really cheap.I hesitate getting it.

Is it good? Are the graphics completely outdated?

I remember playing it last year and feeling like it was extremely outdated. I was shocked actually.

Ok,thanks.

I guess maybe I will pick it whenever we don't have 10 great games released the same month.

If you live in the UK, GAME are selling RSV2 pre owned for £2. The game is outdated. The graphics are bad and the game is laggy but the online is fun.

You can customize your character. You can change what they wear and the colour of their camo. You can even take pictures of your face so your character can look like you.

I can't really comment about the story as I never bothered to play it but I heard it's average and nothing special.

My favourite thing about Rainbow Six Vegas is that you can take cover in this game. This is what makes it stand out from other games. You can run and gun or you can sneak around and shoot people. I suggest the latter though, as more experienced players will gun you down.

Overall, it's a good game and it'll provide you with hours of entertainment, especially with friends. That's my take on it anyway.

Thanks,

I used to play SWAT 3 and 4 on my pc, long time ago. I guess rsv2 will look more like SWAT,than a cod game.

Things have really evolved, these last 2 years, on the graphic department. I remember finishing killzone 3 ,and being totally happy about how it looked so good. And then I started playing Fear 2, I had bought it for almost nothing. Well, I played it about 20 minutes, and had to stop, graphics were hurting my eyes, looked like a 1998 game.

Considering how badly Ubi has corrupted the original Rainbow Six series by Red Storm, I don't see how they can resist screwing this up. Similar to the Ghost Recon series, ever since Tom Clancy licensed his name and stopped taking a hand in how the games were developed, both series have gone tragically downhill, IMO.
