Well, even though I prefer to have a strict challenge from these games, it will be nice for the casual gamers to at least to have a chance and try to beat this one if they had difficulty with the others.

The only thing is that it kind of defeats the sense of accomplishment if you beat it on the easiest setting. Oh well...I'm sure the lowest will be a still be a challenge for the casual.

I personally never play any game on the Easy difficulty. I usually start on Normal then re-do the game but in a harder difficulty. =P

Achievement Unlocked...

EDIT: Yet I get random disagrees. Just plain awesome.

BIoodmask3498d ago (Edited 3498d ago )

aspects of the Ninja Gaiden series was the hardcore difficulty. Games these days are far too easy. Most hack n slashes can be beaten without the use of the block button. Not using block in Gaiden would always equal death.

I am glad they are giving multiple difficulty settings but I am sure they will all be challenging. The Ninja Gaiden series has always had great AI.

Kind of sad actually. Ninja Gaiden seems to be the last of a dying breed trying for games to make way for more casual types of players.

I dunno if it was the AI or just the general toughness of the monsters vs pulling off the moves you needed to kill em and survive to the end of the level...
Has a matter of fact id say the AI was pretty weak imo. Hope this one raises the bar tho.

I played the Sigma demo. HARD. EXTREMELY.

Rikitatsu3498d ago

..Is more Frustrating than Hard... it has nothing to do with Difficulty level, Its damn Frustrating , i mean each level is 1 hour long or even more , and u reach the end of the level , and misstep then fall into a pitfall, the game will throw you back in the beginning of the level -____-"

Bnet3433498d ago

I mean yes Ninja Gaiden is a hard game at times, but it is more frustrating then it is difficult. Part of that is because if you know how to beat a boss or know what you are doing, it's not that hard. Either way, Ninja Gaiden 2 will pwn nublets.

ThaGeNeCySt3498d ago

i never beat the first one (still can't beat that purple haired flying chic that flies thru the church windows)

so i guess i'll be starting on Level 1 on this 1.... unless someone has any tips for someone with 1 health potion?

BloodySinner3498d ago

You mean Alma? She's not as hard as it may seem.

ThaGeNeCySt3498d ago

YEAH ALMA!

GIVE ME TIPS!!!

Mwaan3498d ago (Edited 3498d ago )

Most importantly, don't get under her when she's flying. That tractor beam throw does an insane amount of damage. When she's throwing pillars, block the first one and ball roll the second when you're knocked out of block. She's wide open for attack when she's walking around on the ground. I usually have a couple of talisman of rebirth at that point and plenty of magic. Casting spells make you invulnerable, so I use them to avoid her attacks sometimes. On the bright side, Alma is the hardest boss you'll face in the entire game.

BloodySinner3498d ago (Edited 3498d ago )

You want you stay mid-range around her. Don't get too close (so she doesn't pull you up and grab you) and don't get too far (so she doesn't toss pillars at you).

Haha, Mwaan! You honestly think she's the hardest?! Nah. When you fight her again (The Awakening) she's much more difficult to destroy.

Mwaan3498d ago

I disagree. Alma requires the most patience. If you go right after her, you'll die immediately. She dodges almost everything. It's a long fight, which leaves more time for you to make mistakes. Itagaki said himself that she the hardest boss in the game.

You have to get her with any air power move, and a little fire helps to. Make sure to upgrade your sword and use your sword, any other weapon realy don't work great. Keep moving, block and jump as much as you can and you will get her. Doku is tougher IMO.
