GameDaily go through what they think are complete F*** ups of 2007
I'd say that was a pretty accurate list. Although I would have also added Lair for not allowing analog control which probably would have saved the game.
You beat me to it! I was going to say 'good list, but they missed lair'! :)
To be fair, the control system was a pain, but it was the least of the titles worrie,s and analogue controls would not have fixed the mediocre gameplay. I stuck it through to the end anyway... :)
Bioshock did/does not need multiplayer. It is an amazing game without it, IMO.
I can't really imagine Bioshock with multiplayer. Usually, I barely play a single player FPS, but Bioshock because it was single player only, allowed me to try experience and enjoy the amazing experience it offered. Bioshock might be cool with plasmids, but I don't think the environments would play well with multiplayer the way Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 do.
bioshock is the best single player i have played this year. doesn't need multiplayer. everyone is a critic.
BioShock was/is a masterpiece. People are too hyped up about multiplayer at the moment. I think there are some games that the multiplayer environment works well with. I, however am content in having no "13-year-old-cool-kid-wan nabe" memories associated with BioShock. It's perfect that way. :)
This article hits everything on the head. Except for the fact that Bioshock doesn't need multiplayer, the story, the game play, all maximizes what Bioshock is, a single play Fps.
there should have been one just devoted to gamespot......and gaming "journalism" all together
Interesting list...the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Worth mentioning, one from each company:
Lair's screwy controls;
Wii's overload of shovelware;
STILL no HD on the low-end 360, and the high prices of 360 HDs
BioShock shouldn't be there. A multiplayer in Bio would have hurt it's main point = Being an alone but powerfull being in an underwater city with all kinds of weird creatures. And seriously, why everyone cares for MP so much? Modern classics like God of War, Ico, Shadow of Colossus, Ninja Gaiden, Resident Evil and such don't have any MP and yet they are among the bests. Why is everyone so obssessed with multiplayer?
Agreed. Good points.
Bioshock was developed as a single player game and it's outstanding on all levels. People think that games need multi-player to be good, and that's where they're wrong. I'd rather have a really awesome single player game than some rehash multi-player nonsense. All multi-player shooters are the same except with different weapons and occasionally you get vehicles. Single player gives you varied opponents that don't talk sh!t and hate.
i had it reserved since like march and when news broke out that it was delayed i almost cried....almost
and Bioshock doesn't *NEED mutliplayer.
those are my only major complaints about this list. i don't agree with all of it, but it's close enough that i don't feel the need to go into the stuff i disagree about. it's all minor anyway.
