Take a look at some of this year's heavy hitting games coming to consoles and PC. Here's the top five biggest games that have been officially announced already.
IF, Black Ops 2 comes out this year, then it will be a contender for the biggest game of 2012. GTA V might be pushed into 2013 but is likely to be the biggest. I think people are tired of so many COD games with the yearly releases. As for The Last of Us I'm not sure how big it will actually be simply because it's a new IP. Probably one of the most anticipated, but not necessarily the biggest. What about Mass Effect 3? It's out already and has lots of praise. No love for Resident Evil 6 then?
"IF" lol. "What about Mass Effect 3? It's out already and has lots of praise. No love for Resident Evil 6 then?" If they replaced two of your games with those already on the list then you would be asking for love for those games. Can't have a 7 game Top 5 list(actually you could) EDIT: Props to the xbox site for including a PS3 exclusive. You don't see that too often. Although I think I would have probably left that and GTA V off the list personally. Don't think they'll make it this year.
Yeah, I'm certainly looking forward to RE6, more to the point I'd have had it in place of Assassin's Creed III.
ME3 has got to be a GOTY contender. Other then that, Far Cry 3 and possibly Ghost Recon: Future Soldier could be two of the biggest games this year. I think CoD has reached its peak, and I don't think it will be the same big force its been for the past 5 years, especially if Rockstar releases GTA5 around the same date as Black Ops 2. I would love to see GTA5 mop the floor with Black Ops 2.
Halo 4 "PS3 gamers might scoff, it's a series that has to be respected due to its staying power and huge online following" "could be that Halo 4 is the best of the series to date" "What a way for Xbox to go out with a bang." The Last Of Us "but can Naughty Dog lavish the same detail and attention it affords to its other exclusive game" " is not necessarily the post apocalyptic setting which has been done to death in popular culture, but how well the team can produce a game that isn't Uncharted" "Will The Last of Us be a genre defining title that's more than just looks and drama." Notice the difference? I suppose I should be happy with an xbox website including a PS3 exclusive at all to be honest. Seems ol` msxbox-world.com have slightly higher hopes for Halo 4 :P no troll
last of us is number one, can't w8 to play it
Needs Max Payne 3 and Hitman.
Glad to see Bioshock Infinite on the list, but I wonder what it says about me that the games I'm most excited for this year aren't any of the major releases...
This year is going to be another great year and hopefully a preludeto more great things in 2013.
Just pre-ordered The last of us, AC3, Borderlands 2 and RE6. Now comes the hard part...paying them completely x)
DUST 514, something fresh for FPS and innovative MMO.
the last of us is being praised only because its by naughty dog. another game could easily takes its place once you remove naughty dog out of the picture
it's like saying,GTA 5 is hyped because it's made by rockstar... umh, NO!! The Last of Us looks great because of the setting, the characters, and the potential of doing a good action/survival game... and of course, naughty dog did a good job with uncharted, so why not be hyped for this game? Looks good and is made by a good developer... enough sayed..
