Windows 8 tested, games performance examined

CalmDownTom says, "The UI has seen a large upgrade to a streamlined and tablet style layout of the start menu. When I first loaded the operating system I noticed the similarities with the start menu and the Xbox 360 menus. These menu’s (or Apps as they are called) host a large number of features and functions." (Industry, PC, Tech)

Better performance for sure.
Too bad the interface is sketchy, and the innerds of Windows is soooo hard to get to.
I want my start button back.

Metro is just a bunch of crap tossed on top of Windows 7.

5 buttons to click to turn your PC off in Win8 versus 2 in Win 7!

I see NO reason to buy Win8 unless MS allows 360 games to be played through Win8.

I couldn't agree any more on "I see NO reason to buy Win8 unless MS allows 360 games to be played through Win8. "!

And that's only required to do for the Win 8 Consumer Preview. Microsoft removed the ability to normally disable the Metro interface, so that people are forced to actually.. ya'know.. TEST the new software. As they know most PC users are going to disable it, since it's mainly meant for tablets and touch screen-puters.

In the official release, there will be a setting to disable it.

Windows 8 should be called windows 7.1 . Windows 8 look like a rushed mess so far .

After looking at it, its like dual booting a tablets OS with windows 7. -_- I like it but its not suitable for k/m. I find it hard to upgrade from 7 to 8 unless there is a good leap of performance boost. Price to upgrade is also crucial.
