A Case For Reducing The Number Of Online Games

Velocity Gamer writes:

"The multiplayer boom is a lucrative prospect. Gaming has seen a proliferation of general interest since the beginning of this generation as it grows ever closer to mainstream acceptance, and the best way to gain market share is to facilitate the socially competitive mentality that permeates our culture. It is because of this that almost every game has seen the inclusion of an online segment, but this is not a sustainable practice." (Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, BioShock 2, Culture, Dead Space 2, Dev, Grand Theft Auto IV, Industry, Killzone 3 Multiplayer, MAG, PS3, Xbox 360)
