Gamers have long been fascinated with the prospect of truly believable games. Developers and publishers have pitched “realistic” graphics for decades, and open-world gameplay, which is at least superficially an emulation of life in the real world, has ensured that “hardcore” gamers’ collective desire for realism has reached a fever pitch. Since the sixth generation, console gamers have seen their industry push past rudimentary, limited-polygon 3D character models and prerendered backdrops in favor of new levels of detail. The current generation, which will soon be coming to a close, has offered us more detailed textures, smoother animations, and larger worlds than would have been possible on older hardware. The gap between PC and console hardware seems to have narrowed as developers have focused resources on the successful console market. This is exactly the sort of progress we anticipated — we’re on track, and things can only get more realistic from here, hardware permitting.
Then there’s Nintendo.
Screen Rant, "The return of one controversial character could have an incredible effect on The Legend of Zelda, prompting the introduction of new features."
Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her
Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.
Matt from We Game Daily writes "The Legend of Zelda series has gone in a different direction. One which, try as I have, I just can’t get on board with. Here is why I think Zelda should return to its 3D roots."
Amen! A good, tight, Zelda game with a focus on dungeons and puzzles. Let people have the new style Zelda if you gotta, but let us have the OoT style games too. That's not without precedent either, the handheld 2D Zelda's in the style of A Link to the Past etc have coexisted alongside the 3D Zelda's before
Wind Waker had a perfect balance of open world and a cool, well hand-crafted design. Maybe try to keep the open world but put in effort to make more memorable story driven quests and locations.
A fan of The Legend of Zelda has recreated the iconic Japanese monster Godzilla in Tears of the Kingdom using the game's Zonai devices.
I like it would also be cool if some created Dragon Caesar in the game I would love to watch the two going at it.
The Zelda franchise sits very well with detailed cartoonish graphics. Skyward Sword is a perfect example of what I speak of. The Nintendo Wii U Zelda Tech demo is exactly what I had pictured a next gen zelda would look like. It does not have the photo realism of a modern day shooter, but it looks amazing enough to make your eyes grow wide.
I expect a similar style for most Nintendo in house developed exclusives. Zelda will likely carry the torch in the graphical department for showing the power of the Nintendo Wii U. Which it usually always has for previous Nintendo entertainment consoles.
The future of gaming begins with the Nintendo Wii U entertainment console. Good day and happy gaming.

disgaea 4 begs to differ
I personally dislike Skyward Sword's graphics, it's like it got stuck in some king of Zelda art style limbo, neither Wind Waker nor Twilight Princess which I both loved artistically.
I would definitely perfer it if zelda kept within the TP and ocarina of time graphics. I have nothing against cartoony games, but I feel like it diminishes the epicness in zelda.
