GameInformer's Joe Juba writes, "Assuming a third Final Fantasy XIII game is on the horizon, these are the lessons that we hope Square Enix will learn from the previous entries."
they might as well include FFXIII 1 and 2 on the disc for ps3. I don't see why they wouldn't.
No, because that would exceed 50GB of the dual layer Blu-ray. Anyway, I think they better stop with doing this. People aren't stupid. They won't continue paying for stuff that could/should have been in the previous game. They should concentrate on Versus XIII since that one is way due...
For it to not exist.
yeah, they should stop wasting resources and start creating new IP's like in the old days. So many terrific games like Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana were born just in one console generation yet they can't even create a single good game this gen. BTW let me say that The Last Remnant caught a lot of heat but it was a much better game than FFXIII, I really don't know why they port it over to the PS3. Not too long ago the game appeared on a Japanese poll about their most anticipated games which mean that there's still a market for it. =/
Final Fantasy XIII-2 sold around 2 million World Wide, which are some pretty heavy numbers, but not enough to warrant Final Fantasy XIII-3...Not to mention despite it being a good game, there isn't enough critical voices clamoring for it either. If they want to conclude the story, just give me a giant 10-15 hour DLC expansion that covers it all.
despite it being a good game? Are you still talking about FF13-2? Cause I will tell you that game is by no means any good. I would even go as far to say that it's a horrible game. The game is so bad it makes me sick. The fighting system, the characters, the boring scenery, the horrible story, man Squeenix just doesn't know when enough is enough.
FF13 lovers tend to think that because it's better then FF13 which lets face it ANYTHING is better then FF13, that it's good.
I don't understand how many times I must say this on this site (But hey it is N4G where you can only be a fanboy or a hater), but I did not love XIII, it was about a 6/10 for me. I do however enjoy XIII-2--and yes, there are other people who feel the same.
Oh please iamtehpwn....you don't like FF13....yeah ok then In every FF13/FF13-2 article there was you defending the crap out of it, whenever someone said something you, Mika, Tanir or any other FF13 fan would say something So maybe thats why you have to keep saying it, because your lying.
since when does 2 million sales NOT warrant a sequel?!?! Doesn't matter if this is the biggest piece of crap ever made (there is an argument to that), but business is business. People tend to forget why companies make games, and even insult companies for wanting to make money (I understand some go to far). Why not make a XIII-3? the engine, battle system, and most of story are already in place, development on this game as opposed to a new FFXIV would be a quarter cost and time consumption. Look at Assassins Creed, put a small team aside to make small incremental sequels ala call of duty or madden football, while the main team works on the massive new sequel to "revolutionize" (literally for AC) the franchise. Until people stop buying these "expansion" games this will start being more the norm than the exception. Long story short, You bet your ass they are making FFXIII-3, no one says no to 2 million units of sales with a fraction of the development cost and time.
@DA_SHREDDER you're a nice hater of ff13-2.. did you see academia ? archlyte steppe ? you call "THAT" Boring scenery ? Anyone looking at academia 4xxAf and tell me it's boring really hasn't seen it ..it's with statements like those that people really intrested in the games are still buying FF games and haters like you still bark for some utopia that doesn't exist.. it's just obvious you didn't play the damn game.
You'd think FF13's 6 million in sales would make a stronger case not to make FF13-3. Then again considering all the reused assets, DLC that could be tacked on, if it only sold a million a third sequel would likely show a notable profit. Good luck hitting 6 million again however since the president of releasing an incomplete/poor first game and followed/milking sequels will have been sent and established. Square, could you at the *VERY* least release FFT-0 so I can - kind of - stop actively hating you... Things were once good between us. Magical. Not only do I not know you anymore, I don't want to know you.
You took the words right out my mouth. Me and SE are in a big rough patch in our relationship! SE better bring versus/KH out and make it good. But sadly like being an abused person I will still keep coming back and regretting it :/
Square I have enjoyed our relationship and know that I will always like you but there's a time when people need to move on. Square this is one of those times. Just know it's not you it's m--...... well okay it is you. You burn through my money, the gameplay isn't as great as it used to be and I don't like being with your characters anymore. I think we'll both be happy if we take a break for a while. ^^^This is what I would say to Square Enix if Square was a woman.
ffvs 13 need to be out before work begins on ff13 xiii3
Square needs to release Final Fantasy Versus 13. Hopefully they will change then name to Final Fantasy 15 if possible. It is almost an insult to associate V13 with the original 13. I am excited for E3 to see if the game has finally gone multiplat as I assume that it eventually will. Maybe Nintendo supporters will get lucky and become blessed with a Nintendo Wii U version of Final Fantasy Versus 13. Rated E For Everyone
I think if they have 2 games named Final Fantasy 14 that might cause a problem...just saying... LOL
Thank you for the correction. I forgot about the lame attempt at a PC MMO But then again there are 2 games with the Final Fantasy 13 name. Though anyway I have corrected my previous statement so you wont look crazy. Rated E For Everyone
"Square needs to release Final Fantasy Versus 13. Hopefully they will change then name to Final Fantasy 15 if possible" Thank You.....least I'm not the only one who thinks this Yes it may be differen't from traditional FF games like Versus battle system and yes I personaly did moan about this problem with FF13 but the thing is FF13 Versus have done it in a way where it looks fun and appealing. I'd take the KH battle system over a crappy "auto" one any day. It should be renamed simple as that, I also want it not to relate it's self to FF13. FF Agito 13 was changed to Type-0 where they tried to steer it away from the Fabula Nova Crystallis series/mytho so why can't Versus....hell it's been in development for so long they may aswell. Besides by looking at both games they just can't be linked to each other let alone share the same universe. They look like two differen't worlds.
"FF Agito 13 was changed to Type-0 where they tried to steer it away from the Fabula Nova Crystallis series/mytho so why can't Versus" Except they didn't..Type-0 is full of l'cie , falcie and so on.. The whole mytho is in the game... And you can bet Versus won't be any different. Feel free to disagree but at least i talk knowing my stuff.
how is Versus going multiplatform if Nomura himself comes out every now and then to tell people to calm their tits because the game is still exclusive? if Agito stayed exclusive and stayed in Japan, why can't Versus? oh that's right. because people want this game to go to shit just like FFXIII did after that went multiplat. if it does go MP then it will defo go to the Wii U but at a later date.
So basically what you are saying is that you just dont want it to go to the XBOX 360. Am I right? No need to hold it in. Rated E For Everyone
I liked XIII (didn't love it but don't hate it) and like XIII-2 even more, but a XIII-3 would have to be VERY compelling for me to get that. I agree with changing vXIIIs name as well. No matter what they do, it doesn't matter at all if every byte of XIII-3 is perfect to the core, it and vXIII will sit on store shelves because it shares its name with the antichrist of Final Fantasies. Oh yeah and the FFXIII you all wanted was made. It was called Lost Odyssey.
Lost Odyssey is no FF. That game's way too generic and traditional even by Snes standards. It was good alright, it packed a good story too but FF is much more than that.
dude, please take your disgusting fanboyism somewhere else. Lost Odyssey is a masterpiece...you're just butthurt because the game is Xbox360 exclusive props to MS and Nintendo because they know how to provide great RPGs to their users while Sony just keep wasting their money on overrated shooters like Killzone and Uncharted
@megaman HAHAHA really? Are you serious? Square enix hasnt made a jrpg like lost odyssey in about 2 generation. The story was masterful, the gameplay was kept traditional with a little legend of dragoon action and I almost cried at the end because I spend 65 minutes with the boss fight (WHICH WAS AMAZING). Anyway, final fantasy Cant compete With lost odyssey anymore. Nice trolling though. I recommend a 360 for that game and blue dragon and last remnant arent bad either.
Yep i agree that Lost Odyssey was a masterpiece. Best jrpg of this gen imo and prob one of my favorites of all time. It was a classic jrpg and played like ffx, it had beautiful graphics, a dark mature story, and awesome bosses. I also spent over an hour on the last boss, i was so excited when i beat it i was jumping around yelling lol. I loved everything about it, there just arent any AAA big budget jrpgs like that with a massive map, airships, boats, hidden towns, caves, weapons exc. If anyone loves jrpgs LO is the classic FF in everything except name. If it were released as ff15 on ps3 it would get perfect scores and nonstop praise. As it is ps3 fans call it generic and 360 fans overlook it. Sad, really sad. Blue Dragon was dope also, i hated the annoying characters but everything else was spot on. Still one of the best and most fun jrpgs this gen. I will always cry at the thought of what couldve been if mistwalker got to make Cry On. Damn shame but at least we got The Last Story.
@j-blaze Reads your comment:"dude, please take your disgusting fanboyism somewhere else" "props to MS and Nintendo because they know how to provide great RPGs to their users while Sony just keep wasting their money on overrated shooters" Ok... do you see the contradiction in that? Also... here is something you need to understand... all of those RPGs you are talking about name one that was made by a first party Nintendo or Microsoft developer. You can't... why? Because all of those RPG's are third party, Nintendo and MS are not paying them to make those game, they just said hey.. why not. If anyone whom should get props it is Square or Atlus.. you know the people who make your treasured JRPGS? Also what about games like Demon's Souls, Valyria Chronicles, White knight chronicles? Not sony first party, but PS3 exclusive. So you just made a flawed statement... Also weird considering your a Japan-fanboy... not a fanboy for a console presee.. BUT A WHOLE FREAKING COUNTRY! You should get that out of here.. A fanboy whom does not know he is a fanboy is the most annoying... the first step of recovery is acceptance.
"What We Want In Final Fantasy XIII-3" No one wants this game anyway btw, XIII-3 sounds ridiculous lol SE if you wont to make this s*** rename it to "Final Fantasy XIII: bla bla bla" or something like that.
i am sre they said they end ff13-2 with some DLC?
So many haters ... "FF13-2 isn't good " they say... except that it is ... i'm just disapointed that we'll probably have the true ending in the last dlc they have planned for this game. i don't understand the hate about ff13-2 when it did so many things right. Ps: hope was actually a better character in this game ..there is no reason to kill him ..i just want allyssa to come back.
Don't bother. When people here decide to hate a game, it becomes fact. Even people like you or myself who enjoy the games and can actually appreciate them for what they are pretty much get disregarded because popular (or most vocal) opinion is that the games suck. That said, I don't want a XIII-3. What I WANT is for them to complete a game in its entirety, so that a sequel isn't necessary. That's one thing Square used to be good at that they seem to have problems with now.
