Guerrilla Game's gritty shooter made a big move earlier this week. Though you can pick up the game in its complete form at retail stores, Killzone 3’s multiplayer mode has become a separate entity in some ways. Recently releasing on the PSN, Killzone 3 has taken a digital approach that leaves it’s single player behind.
KZ3 is still KZ with regards to objectives, but gameplay wise KZ3 plays like any other shooter out there.
This obviously wasn't the case with KZ2 because it was too different. KZ3's MP is the result of all the crying and whining made by people who sucked at KZ2 .
A lot of people love to ridicule developers for keeping certain aspects of a game the same as previous iterations but some have a problem because the sequel is a bit different. Look at resistance, the developers made a different game in resistance 2 but a lot of non fans cried about the "improvements" so in resistance 3 insomniac brought back certain things used in resistance 3 but it sold worst than all previous iterations.
People considers twitch fast pace controls to imitating c.o.d when many games before had such controls. Just stop whining about games and play them how the developers made them. If you don't like it just play what you like. I'm a fan of killzone so I play it like it is. The game doesn't have deal breaking issues like massive lag, massive glitches and all sorts
Im getting sick of these casual scrubs thats picking up Killzone for the first time, and they think they know why we act the way we do, you have NO CLUE how long this fanbase has been ignored laughed at and mocked.Killzone 2 has one of the most loyal fanbases around but you wouldn't know that because the last really good Killzone game was KZ2.
The existing fans were already soured with R2, and with so many shooters releasing near the same time, it didn't really stand a chance.
As for KZ3, I actually like the quicker controls, but for me, the deal-braking issue is the lack of any server browser.
R3's multiplayer failure was because R3's multiplayer sucked real bad. R2 had the best multiplayer in the series, and I think alot of people were let down because they ditched the awesome 8 player co-op (with matchmaking), and instead went with 2 player co-op without matchmaking. The verses modes were alot more fun in R2, and the 60 player matches were loads of fun. The map design in R3 was juvenile at best.
@ shredder the reason is because its way better three is terrible compared to two.
But, for those who have never played Killzone in general, pick up Killzone 2 for probably the same price, and you get a top of the line FPS SP experience + a hardcore MP experience with a good sized dedicated MP community.
Anyone know if there are still plenty of people playing KZ2?
here are some recent threads 2 read.

Oh and this funny thread poor kz3

The game seems to have a more active european community (compared to the US), so finding a match will probably be easier if you're from there.
No dice on the DLC maps though. GG should just make them free for everyone. I want some beach head action. =/
Here is a quick google, "Killzone 3 was two months behind schedule, and there was a push to get the game out the door. "It was probably the most intense, complex project I have ever worked on," Sonzero tells Kotaku.
i do like the maps though but fighting with controls is not my idea of fun
That's the main problem with Digital DL's that have MP, Because you never know if the Lobbies are alive or not. And when you buy it and find out....it's to late & you lose your money, But the Devs & Pubs got supported so I guess you should be happy.....Right??
Download it and give it a shot.
