I see the two free games part is over... but still a good deal for anyone in the market. BTW what/where is this Future shop to speak of... and don't say from the future or I'll have to e-slap you :)

Wow, that's a fantastic deal.

Even thought I got my 160GB PS3 with two free games for $200 last fall, the extra $50 would be worth it here for the extra 160GB of hard drive space.

Great deal, where'd you get it from?
betan21  +   1060d ago

TrendyGamers  +   1060d ago
You can always return it and pick it up from Future Shop, or ask the place you bought it from to match the deal, but it is today only.

Great deal
Now this is what I call, "value."

It's a better deal than buying a Vita (if you disagree - please explain, cause it's obvious that this bundle is more value for your dollar).

Why are comparing the value of a home console released in 2006 to a handheld device released in 2011?
mttrackmaster38  +   1060d ago
Well, there's the fact that someone may genuinely want a Vita instead of a ps3. You may think the ps3 is of more value, but not everyone else holds that same opinion. Stop trying to push it as fact by saying: "it's obvious that this bundle is more value for your dollar".

I, for example would rather have a Vita since it's portable. I'm already playing it more than both my game consoles.

I own a fat PS3 I bought for 400 Euro incl 1 game, a Slim PS3 and since a couple of days a PSVita and even though its hard comparing a home console to a handheld, one CAN compare the costs to the digital entertainment value a device gives.

I love the PSvita, it truly makes some stuff better, even the PSN experience including cross game chatting but I gotta say, this deal which gives:

A PS3 loaded with a big HDD of 320GB
3 x an AAA game, you can love some genres or you don't, but LBP, UC3 and MW2 are good games, one is a bit older than the other but still, damn 3 full big games for 250 USD incl free shipping, having a large library of games

compared to

A 250 USD costing PSVita without games, with the need to buy a separate memcard (the 4GB is no option), 16GB is preferred, 32GB would be best running you another 60 to 100 USD (some deals have 8GB cards included but its a bit small for dl demos and games) that has a handfull of games and not known what its future brings

Yes its clear the PS3 has more bang for the bucks in replayability, quality games, graphics (although the PSVista does a great job making the games look like close to current gen 360/PS3 quality), gameplay you name it.

Sure one can prefer a handheld more than a console by own subjective reasons. Sure if someone genuinely want a Vita instead of a PS3 or the other way around won't change ones feeling towards one or the other. And it doesn't matter if something is released in 2006 or 2012. One compares the alternatives right here, right now.

And that PS3 when cut away all the subjective feelings towards anything, or take into account any persons subjective reasons to buy one or the other, that PS3 gives the better gamebang for ones bucks, period.

The only problem is... I had a 320gb drive in my ps3 the moment i bought a ps3 120gb model..

any 2.5" laptop drive (unlike proprietary drives on the 360) works on any ps3.

I don't need a new ps3, i can just buy a 1tb drive for under a hundred dollars..

the only benefit of a new ps3 is maybe... a less power consumption model..

nlike my latest 4g 360 that is still hot to the touch, still a power hungry monster but finally silent compared to the original 360.

While a good deal.. its time for sony to drop a deal like this not with uncharted 3 but with uncharted 1, 2 and 3.

Too bad 1TB drives won't fit in your PS3. The thickness of drives above 640/750GB are a few mm's more and don't fit in the PS3 anymore.

Another benefit of less power consumption = a PS3 running less hot, thus less change on YLOD, although the first slims already were a lot better than the fat PS3's. Where the latter Fat PS3's already were less YLOD sensitive than the early Fats...

You are mistaken Nutsack as are the people that disagreed with me, that was the case years ago.

2.5m inch 1tb drives are now common, before that the largest 2.5 inch drives were 750gb, still cheaper than any 360 drive for more storage

Dude, I am not talking about the size in GB's, I'm talking about its THICKNESS

The drives up to 640/750GB are like 9mm thick, the 1TB are something like 12mm thick/high.

They don't FIT in the slot of the PS3.
