Rumor: US Studio To Develop Metal Gear Solid Game

After rumors sprung up about a new Metal Gear game from a GDC listing for ‘the “Next” MGS’ along with an image of Big Boss, most people assumed that MGS5 was in development at Kojima Productions Japan. Now, however, more job listings suggest the upcoming California-based Kojima Productions studio may actually be handling development of the game. - PSLS

Revengeance is really a game for people who aren't MGS fans because the game is the complete opposite to the MGS games in terms of its style and gameplay. That doesn't mean it will be a bad game, it's almost definite that the gameplay will be good, but it does mean that more than likely MGS fans will not be happy with it.

Yeah i agree with you both. MGS1 is the best one in the series. Psycho Mantis. Two endings. Solid Snake vs Liquid. Looking at Meril`s ass to see which guard she is. I mean the game is just so epic and fun.

MGS3 was almoast as good and easily a 10/10 game. But MGS1 is a little bit better in my opinion. Along with FF7 as the two best games i`ve ever tried.

Not a big fan of this series in particular but I enjoy its silliness from a distance. Westernizing it a bit (but not TOO much) could potentially get me to give it a second earnest chance.

Anyway MGS is my favourite game of all time but if Kojima got tired of it after 5-6 games i would understand that very well.He has ambitious to make something new and i know that Kojima will amaze us once again with any different project.It's better than to continue creating the game with no new ideas, or just keep creating the same game again and again like God Of War & Uncharted. Am not saying those are bad games but let's keep it real here all 3 parts of both games are practically the same.

I swear to god that some of you don't even know how to read or infer conclusions from something you read.

The game will STILL be developed by Kojima Productions, it's just the work will be shared or it will totally be developed in the new KJP studio that is set to be placed in California. They will not hand the game over to another studio or a game company, they're simply employing more people and expanding their staff with new employees. Kojima will probably be writing, directing and managing the production just as he used to do in the past. It's not like they're giving the franchise away to an American company who has nothing to do with MGS. These people will be working for KJP, therefore the game will be released by Kojima Productions with the combined efforts of the old and the new KJP studios.

As long as Kojima himself oversees it, I don't see a problem. However if that isn't the case, I think he really needs to reconsider. Metal Gear Solid is a flagship game and is held in high regards by many.
