Aquaria 2D underwater fantasy adventure out for PC

Aquaria was recently released for PC. The adventure, the winner of the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the 2007 Independent Games Festival, features over 175 strange and wonderful creatures (including several massive and ancient "bosses"), 8 magical forms with unique abilities, 50 original music tracks, and over 2000 pieces of hand-painted 2D artwork.

It was the commercial debut of Derek Yu, who had previously worked on the freeware hit Eternal Daughter, which helped it generate buzz without the need for a marketing budget. It was everything big-budget games were not at the time; subtle, atmospheric, and old-school without being nostalgic.
