[Rumor] 3D Netflix Streaming Coming to PS3?

GXC: "Sony is no stranger to pushing 3D media through different avenues – Their 3D TVs, movies, video games, you name it. 3D programming and media has been made available on the PlayStation 3 through the PSN store, apps like VUDU, and games. Well, the next source of your 3D entertainment may be coming from one of the largest sources of online entertainment in North America – Netflix."

Netflix would be wise to add this feature to their already great portfolio of titles. As an early adopter of 3D, Dark Sniper will be delighted to use this feature exclusively on his PlayStation®3 Home Entertainment Processor.

As it stands right now, only PlayStation®3 provides consumers the ability to jump into the third dimension with a complete library of blu-ray movies, Netflix and the greatest exclusives known to man. He will enjoy this fine addition as Netflix and Sony partner up once again to give us the best entertainment possible.

I have the 3D PlayStation Display and would love to get more use out of it so I would like this.

I'm not sure my internet connection would be fast enough for this but... We'll see!

This is no rumor. It will happen. Just a matter of when.

I personally am fine with HD and don't care for 3D, but it will come about anyway.

fluffydelusions1675d ago

Hm..I smell a new payment model

$7.99 streaming
$9.99 3D streaming

or something like that...

LOGICWINS1675d ago

Doubt it. Very FEW titles will be able to stream in 3D in the beginning. It wouldn't make sense for Netflix to charge an extra $2 per month just so you can watch three or four titles in 3D.

Netflix and Redbox charge extra if you rent a blue-ray instead of a dvd, so Id say its pretty certain they will charge for a 3d option.

Did everyone else just read this pile and ignore it?? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.

Hmmm.

Bare in mind it is a streaming service, and to portray 3D through streaming through the internet can be rather rough.

I aint saying it's a bad idea, but it's "an idea" that could at the very least be tested.

this would be awesome i stream 3d movies from my pc to my tv all the time as thats where i keep them or through my 60mb virgin so i wouldn't have a problem with any speed issues. and would love a service that provides more 3d content the only thing i really use my 3dtv for is gaming at the minute. but with the Olympics coming up and bbc broadcasting it in 3d and all this buzz going on it is starting to look like the 3d stuff is starting to pick up pace. everyone need to get ready for it, everyone said they didnt need a hdtv when they came out, now look!!
